The January Window

Just over a month away now. Where do you think we need to strengthen? I think we need a defensive midfielder, assuming the management don’t deem Soro ready. We need a right winger as backup for Forrest, as Christie can do a job there but a second option who is natural in the position wouldn’t hurt. Also, I think we need another centre back. Duffy just hasn’t done it for us and he’s not going to suddenly develop ability on the ball.

Players out the door should be an agenda as well, but wholesale changes are very unlikely.

All either because they aren't cutting it, or that they just wont make it through various reasons (mainly not given a chance). May as well recoup something for these lads and get them off the wage bill.

That time of year eh.

New defender

 

Striker, CM and goalkeeper for me. We have a few solid centre half options in Ajer, Jullien and Duffy, with Biton as backup. Need another goalkeeper and another option in centre midfield, and maybe another RW.

 

Be happy enough with a gk. When Jullien and Ajer are paired up again we should be fine.

A dm would be good though so we can rest Brown but would hope we eventually give Soro a chance, however unlikely that is.

 

Not all in January but over the next two windows.

Out Perm: Boli, Bayo, Hendry, Gutman, Perez, Ralston, Shved, Dembele, Ntcham, Eddy, Christie, Ajer (last three because of contracts not that I want them sold), Brown (retired or player coach role with no real playing time). Not to mention loans ending for Duffy, Laxalt and Ely.

Out Loan: Connell, Welsh, Harper, Klimala

CB (good options such as Bazoer, Davies, Sanicanin, Basila(prospect) the last three are all available on bosman, Bazoer can also play DCM)

DCM (Onyeka, Alieu Dieng, Selahi, Ait Bennasser (more box to box)) Onyeka would cost a bit, Dieng could be a bit of a bargain, the other two are out of contract in the summer.

RW (Zinckernagel, Kapacak (can play left or right), Doherty)

LW (Kapacak, Doherty can play there too if we can’t get Moi permanently)

AM understudy to Rogic, Dominik Yankov whose broke into the Ludogrets team this year, very good on the ball with either foot has a few goals and assists already to his name and is out of contract in the summer.

ST(Livaja (can also play AM), Sydney Van Hooijdonk (Pierres boy) Ali Akrim, one to keep an eye on Jorgen Larsen at Groningen), the first three are all out of contract in the summer, Larsen would cost a bit but could be viewed as replacement for Eddy if he keeps improving.

Who I would sign when, depends on departures. I would try tie up Laxalt in January, sign Bazoer, Kapacak and either Onyeka or Dieng. Then try get a lot of the others signed on bosmans. Unless Eddy goes in January then we will need to bring in another striker then too.

If Elhamed left due to his family situation at the end of the season I would try sign one of Soppy, Fosu-Mensah or Kyle Duncan (work permit dependent).

Can’t see Forster coming back, seeing as he dodged our calls all summer (allegedly).

 

Quite possibly the most important transfer window in our club's history.

Barkas and Duffy (don't laugh) will come good, so I don't see any need for us to splash money on either positions.

Striker-wise we are fine.

We definitely need another influential right winger (even though Forrest will be like a new signing when he returns), and most importantly we need another combatitive CM/CDM without question.

I really hope they do come good mate, but I'm out of patience on both of them right now. Both seem to be lacking in the most simple departments. And we have no room for players like that. Especially not when they hun * arent looking like slipping up.
