    Ceiling light stopped working earlier. Took the cover off and seen this bit burnt out. Can this be fixed? Does anyone know?

    I'd replace it mate. I ain't an electrician so can't say what's happened but for peace of mind I'd fit a new one.

    That’s a ‘Live ‘ wire burnt out at the terminal block...Looks like a transformer in there so not basic loop in light switching.. I’ve rewired my house (No fires yet) but avoided dimmers and low voltage transformer type stuff as they can be problematic . An electrician will know instantly.

    Is it a dimmer Switched light ? Could be overloading... too much wattage . Or low voltage with similar issue... easy to overload..

    looks like new light needed.

    The ballast is burnt out mate, you can replace the ballast.

    Your looking for a 28watt 2d 4pin ballast.
