I said this last night but he just can’t. He’s by far at his most effective off the left. We need to play him there or not play him at all. He just hasn’t got the game with his back to goal to play in the ten for us.

    Dunno.

I think he tires in the sense that his passing etc becomes a bit more laid back and drifts in and out more. Not just last night in isolation though.

Would never play him in the 10 when we have guys like Christie/Rogic and even McGregor who should all really be playing there.

We've enough options in that role, Elyounoussi should stay out wide, interestingly he's decent in the air so long balls out wide could be played to him more to try and knock downs/flick ons to the striker(s) depending.

    We've not tried him as a 10 in a 3-5-2 tho.

With Ajeti and Edouard in front of him I'm sure he's intelligent enough to make that work.

But aye, he does look the most effective drifting off the left.

Starting to produce in big moments a bit more now..

We need that consistency from him..

His goal today reminded me of Hibs at Hampden last season. Just predatory instinct in the box to tap home..

His movement and intelligence has never been in doubt. He just needs to play to his strengths and as long as he chips in with important goals and assists I can't complain.

He is getting a lot more support now with Laxalt. Our whole left hand side was dead and buried with Taylor behind him.

Glad to see him getting in amongst it, top player when he is in flow. Him and Diego are looking good down the left

Far better now that he isn't being used as a 2nd striker.

Difference in his play when he's got a quality defender with Laxalt at his side is unbelievable.

Laxalt helps bring out his quality as Elyounoussi doesn't need to track back as much with Laxalt in a back 4

    Frimpong isn't a winger.

Starting to chip in with some very important goals.. no complaints either about his tracking back.. Decision making at times could be better

I’d be quite happy to try him there, he doesn’t rely on overlapping to beat a man. He can do it from a standing start at any position on the pitch. I don’t think his success at running with the ball comes from running from deep, he’d be just as effective further up the pitch I think.

I don't think his link up play, his crossing, or his touch is quite there to play as a winger. I can't recall many examples but his shooting isn't good enough to be a winger either. It's a totally different mentality when you play that bit further forward. I could be wrong and he might be worth a go there, but I personally I don't see it being effective.
