Bollocks, he’s a very solid back up.

I would agree with that. I do not see him as a long term number 1 but he is a very decent keeper to have as a number 2.

Entitled to your opinion but I disagree. I wouldnt trust throwing him in, in a big game. Huns aside on his debut he has been very average. We should have 2 keepers challenging for the 1 spot not settling for a SPL standard back up

No any difference in either , similar type keepers , thought bain was great his first season down a little on the second.

At my risk of sounding too balanced :50:

Couldn’t the 2018 league cup final, 2019 Scottish cup final, EL last 32, CL qualifiers, 3 games against the Huns not be considered our biggest games of every season? Don’t you think he could be trusted after those ‘big’ games where he was relatively solid?*

Not bad for our second keeper given some of the horrors we’ve had over the years.

*In before Cluj. Look at El Hamed. Look
at the same player for folk blaming Barkas for Ferencvaros second goal too.

We’ve never had 2 keepers challenging for the no.1 spot for as long as I can remember. It’s unrealistic to expect us to have 2 keepers who are both good enough to be no.1. How many clubs have the luxury of having a backup as good as their no.1?! It’s simply not necessary & doesn’t really make sense given how infrequently they get injured/are unavailable.

He is not bad for a second keeper but as I repeat here often, if he was the goalkeeper and not Forster we would have finished last in the group last year. In Europe we need goalkeepers that can do more than simply not * up.

Funny how average is mentioned, Barkas is also average.

Does he take his water bottle on to the pitch and have it in goal ?

Not sure what to make of that first half performance but a huge penalty save none the less.

Rush of blood to the head at the end of the half aside he has been excellent.

He’s been class apart from that fumble...think that was arrogance from the penalty save cause he’d never be that far out of him goal normally

He doesn’t need to come out collecting crosses all over the place. Let Duffy and Ajer do it.

Hes always been a solid enough keeper, I think Forster has just raised the bar so much him and Barkas are getting judged off that.

I think it would send out the wrong message to take him out the team after that tonight. It should be down to Barkas to work his way back into position, big fee or not.

I said I wanted Bain to be back in net and I think that tonight shows he is first choice at this moment in time, for me.

If Barkas plays that game in his form just now, do we lose tonight even discounting the penalty save? Perhaps or perhaps not. It’s a thought though.

Although Bain saved the penalty, he doesn't fill me with confidence. His unorthodox save with his feet and when he came out to catch the ball and missed was poor. We should have used the money we bought Barkas for to up big Forster's wages.

Give Bain the cup game. Might be a penalty shootout in there.

I definitely think he did better than Barkas would have tonight but he flapped at an easy save first half and dropped an easy catch which nearly cost us. He should not be our first choice until Barkas has a calamitous * up.

That save with the feet is a Forster special. Seen him do that countless times from crosses and the like.

Aye the fumble was poor but the rest was fine tonight.
