Sinclair wasn’t played out of position.

Also another player who was given abuse by many of our fickle fans.

Sinclair wasn’t even getting a game by then! Another Lennon conundrum.

I agree - having to justify Sinclair’s record to folk back then was sickening.

To be fair, he wasn’t able to take men on as much after his first season because near enough every team in the SPL started doubling up on our left hand side to stop Sinclair and Tierney. Yet, he was still posting top goalscorer and top assist provider. No wonder Forrest with all the space on the other side had arguably his best two seasons in a Celtic jersey.

Long and short of it is that removing Sinclair’s consistent contribution in terms of goals and assists wasn’t right - nobody was going to replace that and so it has transpired.

Let’s not pretend Sinclair wasn’t a complete and utter shadow of himself for his last 12 months here.

    This.

He was rotten for a good 18 months. His decline coincided with the team as a whole regressing, performance wise.

Sinclair and Tierney were always going to be difficult to replace and we've failed miserably in trying to do so.

Sinclair’s goals and performances that first season and start of the second were outstanding but if there was ever a confidence player he was it.

Once he started getting marked closely and not getting past players his full game collapsed. He used to track back and go up and down that left flank cut in and get shots of provide space for Tierney or even Izzy to overlap that first year but that all stopped. He started standing out on the left touch line looking almost terrified to get the ball. When he did he would more often than not lose it. It was like night and day.

I don’t blame Lenny for how it ended as this was a Lawwell mess up giving him the option on his contract to get a fee and end up paying a player top money for 6 months because no one bought him in the summer.

He was superb when he first came in last season. Since then he's been pretty poor with some good flashes.

There's still a long way to go in the season and plenty time for him to come good - from a personal point of view, his career could potentially decline quickly if he doesn't make a success of himself in Scotland.

I don't think his quality can be questioned. It's where do you fit him in to get the best out of him? On the left of a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 would be my bet. He isn't super quick so I think having a full back to play with would help him massively.

Still annoyed at him from Sat. His * up led to their first goal and then he misses a golden opportunity. He scores that and it gives us some momentum, same as when rogic scores a worldy against them a couple years ago

    Really letting himself down.

Such a talented player but not seeing it. Like many currently to be fair.

Dont think he suits the system. Whatever the system actually is!

He isn't a striker, and he's too slow on the wing. I think he has to play the 10 role behind Ajeti and Edouard.

Took up some good positions last night, took goal well, had a few half chances, maybe he can get an understanding going with Lax.

Mental that he looked like a decent left winger last night

    What ye trying to say?
That playing a player in their actual position means they may actually play a decent game?

    Will never work.

Play him left of a midfield diamond with Christie in the right McGregor sitting deep and rogic up top just off 2 striker's and you watch laxalt overlapping creating space for elyounoussi.
