We were. They ripped us apart numerous times in 2nd gear. People patting themselves on the back because we scored a consolation, yes Milan are a better team but it's not good enough in a pattern of poor performances.

Not in any way. The difference was in the final third they were clinical we were not. We were poor in the first half other then the first 10 minutes or so .But showed some fight in the second half just lacked the quality with the final ball, cross or shot whereas they were good in the final third over the 90 minutes.

I agree with this a half decent Celtic team pumps them but we aren't good enough Duffy is a bit of a bombscare man barkas has to do better at this level. That being said another howler from the manager tonight I think the problem is McGregor and brown mcgregor needs rejuvenation a wee rest maybe and brown needs to be taken and used tactically we looked much better when brown went off. Lennon baffles me so much taking laxalt off he was our best man on the park at times he even said post match he was superb well why did u sub him when the momentum came then ajeti looked furious at coming off aswell madness from Lennon again. I've supported him throughout but he needs to either wake the * up or just go and we can get MON or WGS back for the rest of the season something has to give

The strikers couldn't score in a brothel yet again, early yet re Barkas but I'm trying to remember if If he's made a save yet.
Saying that there was slightly more pace and energy but still not enough

A half decent Celtic team pumps the team who are currently top of Serie A, fresh off beating Inter and have won 17 (and drawn 4) of their last 21 games? Might want a reality check there.

Barkas couldn’t have done anything about the three goals.

McGregor certainly isn’t the issue. Perhaps how he is being used tactically is an issue, but that’s not his fault.

There’s plenty things that Lennon can be criticised for tonight, but his substitutions certainly aren’t one of them. Neither Laxalt or Ajeti is fit enough to play a full 90 minutes and we have an absolutely massive game on Sunday. There’s absolutely zero sense in risking an injury in already depleted squad by forcing them to finish tonight’s game.

The answer to Lennon’s lack of tactical awareness in the modern game is not a backwards step to a bygone era with O’Neill or Strachan. Granted they might get an initial motivational reaction, but they’re certainly not the answer.

Why is it anytime we lose a game now the team that beat us didn’t “get out of 2nd gear”?

3-1 makes it look a lot worse than it was. A draw would have been a fair result tonight.

Totally agree mate- it had the makings of pumping but as you say mate- when we played bad get slagged rotten come out in second half and raise our game 100% it’s because they didn’t come out of second gear- mibee that’s how we beat the Huns with 10 men 3-2 at ibrox 2 years back- they were leading 2-1 - mibee they decided not to come out of second gear and let us back in it

No one s patting themselves on the back- everyone know s we have been * poor this season and been more than critical of Lennon s team selection s- and the first half we were * aswell but for the opposition we were playing tonight and the change of formation it was absolutely night n day second half to first half and aw this second gear- they were time wasting at the end and taking bookings cause way we were playing Well at 1-2, credit where it’s due

That’s extremely harsh mate. There wasn’t much between us and I think the score at half time flattered them. If we had played 90 minutes like we played second half, we could have scored plenty against them.

Just that likes seeing him in the team and he thinks he adds another dimension to our play.

We just needed a couple more of our shots to be on target. Too many over the bar or low and wide

Last 2 home games, 1 goal scored and 5 conceeded! And nobody is concerned with this at all. Just bad luck and good fortune for the opposition? I do hope this trend does not continue and we gain a rub of the green soon..

It looks from your profile like you don’t use the forum often (strangely only after bad results), but I’d probably suggest you actually read the posts on here before making a blanket statement like “nobody is concerned with this at all.”

It’s quite clear that the vast majority of people posting tonight have concerns about performance, management, tactics, individual players etc. Your post is complete nonsense.

Apart from the Icelandic part time team I think we are only scoring 1 goal per game in Europe.

Against Milan that might not be a problem as they are a top team but the others we have played are not quality and that is worrying.

With our current defence 1 goal is often not going to be enough.

If Duffy is the answer then the question must be who looks like they are towing a caravan.
