When Lennon was given the job permanently what was it Lawwell said he did?

He'd recieved applications from some very good managers, but he knew he wanted Lennon from the first moment and put all other applications in a file and put them in his desk without looking through or reading them.

After hearing how unprofessional Lawwell was last time I would think that may well make certain managers think twice about applying for the job next time.
