Hate to condemn any player after a few games, but this guy gives no cause for optimism. We need a settled defence and a competent keeper behind them.

Should have signed David Marshall on a free.

Never really wanted to comment on him until now because we’ve had bigger problems.

However I’ve not been impressed with what I’ve seen. I don’t think he’s hopeless but Forster would have saved that header today and he would also have saved the long range goal that Livi scored against us. He’s also faced a few penalties and not saved one whereas Forster would have.

Before anyone says it, I appreciate we tried to get Forster and he rejected it. It was always going to be hard to replace him but Barkas hasn’t had the best start.

We’ve paid a decent whack for him so we will stick with him. I wouldn’t be opposed to signing someone like Marciano who I think is a great goalkeeper on his day and knows the league. Give Barkas more time to settle in.

Need to stop comparing him to Forster or else we are forever going to be disappointed.

Can’t fault the keeper for the first goal, if you watch it in real time it would take a world class save to keep it out.

He didn't have much to do today, but he should have saved their first goal.

He was also caught flapping badly at a corner.

The free kick later on he tipped over was miles over the bar. It gave away a corner for nothing.

He's made a few errors, but he's done a few good things. He's not had a game yet where you'd say he played really good.

I'm not writing him off, but he does need to do more.

I've said it on numerous occasions Neil Lennon & Lawwell should have done everything in their power to have got Big Forster back. He was our most important player from last season. Our defence knew they had him behind them. What confidence he give them. I will say it again bring him back in January. It's NOT too late to get our season up and running

The first goal was a great ball in it has to be said , right in between goalie and defence , its hard for a keeper to judge if its going left, right or nobody getting on the end of it , I see him getting blamed for this by pundits and also of our fans so maybe I'm wrong , just and observation.

    Tbh that's a good shout, he's a top. Keeper.

    I. Do. Want to like the big guy but that 1st goal ws horrendous.

Ain't writing him off though, but do think Marshall could have been a good option and finance. Wise very good.

Duffy takes at least half the blame for that first goal by breaking the line and playing Goldson back on imo

Many people on here had a mini meltdown at the mere mention of David Marshall. From what ive seen so far Marshall is easily the better keeper, lets hope theres a lot of room for improvement with Barkas.

No I’m not, it’s very similar to Everton’s first goal today. In real time great header, in slow motion the keeper should save it.

He’s not done much wrong, I’m sure he’ll be a good keeper for us. Too many people on here going with the hun pundits on Sky today.

For me it was more Duffy’s fault for the Sunday league or U20s defending of dropping deeper than the defensive line before the freekick was taken otherwise Goldson was miles offside. However Barkas should have pushed it away it actually went under his hands.

    Correct , of he comes

If it was more Duffy fault then take this pish into the Duffy thread , now for the goal , the guy is between our defence and keeper , NIGHTMARE for goalie , sorry but ball should have been defended at the front post /pen spot area , push the ball away? You watching volleyball?

Nobody sees this , they can't blame Duffy as he is the big man , throw the goalie under the bus instead and don't/can't acknowledge it was a great cross.

Duffy did play him on side but at the end of the day the keeper must save it. Duffy was * today as well not denying that
