If we practice that line and trust it...it's offside. He actually us the only player to sprint back and play him on..

    So basic..

From the off he was getting caught on the ba by Morelos and all day his passing and diagonals were hideous..

    A disgraceful performance..

25k a week and the young boy next to him was bailing him out.

I had my reservations about him, albeit I was quite glad to see him signed.

Starting to think my gut feeling was correct. He’s a classic old school centre half who doesn’t suit the way we play at all.

Serious reservations about him. I can see the logic behind signing him, and we needed numbers at the back, but for me our best back three doesn’t include him.

Absolutely at fault for the first goal. He’s supposed to be a leader and there’s none of that on show. His use of the ball is * (no offence to any * centre backs out there). Very poor.

Think he would work in a 4, not a 3.

    Pish and * today.

Mind someone recently debating me saying his passing aint a problem as he's not on the ball as much as our other centre backs and it's his job to give it to them and they play out. A recent stat then confirmed he has the most touches of the ball in our team and it is in fact a significant problem.

As I said before and tried to calm people down acting like he was going to transform the defence, he’s muck.

Genuinely * clueless unless he’s heading a ball in the box.

No positional awareness, can’t run, can’t defend one on one.

Might just be the worst defender I’ve seen with the ball at his feet for us. He makes Boyata look like VVD.

People got excited because he’s Irish.

    Diddy.

And strolling about and losing possession

I don’t claim to be a tactical savant or even know much about defending set pieces, but I say and watched Goldson stroll around unmarked in real time for their first, with Duffy looking on passively.

    It was terrible.

Pish. Looked solid at points in the early games, can obviously score a goal.
But sold us short for both goals today and not for the first time has a game seemed way bigger than he is capable of.

Willing to give him more time and tries, more so under a different manager, but overall signs are not good. Would not be looking to make this move perm.

If we stick with Duffy we'll lose the League. Worst defender since Boyata.

Ajer, Jullien, Bitton and Elhamed all much better options. I'd rather sign Declan Gallagher and get shot of him in the winter if possible.

Aye hes been a bit of a let down since he came in, still think he can be an asset to us but I could see Elhamed making the third CB slot his own.

Our three best defenders are Ajer, Julien and Bitton imo. It’s between Duffy and El Hamed for the 4th spot with neither really being on good form, but El Hamed being more suited to our play overall.

In fact that completely ignores Welsh who was decent today, but my point is Duffy shouldn’t be starting when everyone is fit. No offence to him, he’s all heart and would never let us down in terms of effort, but he’s simply not that good.

I remember him playing a pass into Brown in the second half which instantly played him into pressure as he had two players around him.

The other one that sticks in my mind was him strolling out with the ball in the first half and Morelos nicked it off him because he was taking so long on the ball.

A good player to have in your squad but duffy is nothing special.Happy to have him but hes average.

Seemed to me a few people on here got carried away when we got him and probable expected him to be better than he is.As i said im happy to have him but i wouldnt expect to much from him.
