Yet the other poster said the NHS was on its knees his words, do you think Covid should mean others shouldn’t get the critical care they need? The hospitals built should’ve been put to far better use, only now are they using them for outpatient appointments.

I can’t and neither can others I know, it’s telephone appointments unless it’s an emergency. It’s even brutal trying to get your repeat prescriptions trust me.

Who has said someone else’s health is more important?

Seriously ill people have been getting critical treatment. My step dads brother has been getting chemo even though he’s been given 6 months to live.

Mate why do you seem to think the NHS has done nothing else apart from only treat Covid patients the last few months?

Just because new hospitals built solely as a backup in case we needed more room for if we couldn’t curtail the spread aren’t bursting at the seems don’t mean the NHS wasn’t getting overrun.

Anyone who didn’t need to shield was basically working non stop all day with hardly any time off until the spread calmed down.

The fact the backup hospitals haven’t had to be used to the extent many though is actually a testament to how the NHS has handled it.

Not because the Daily Mail or Guardian are saying the MSM are feeding us sheeple or whatever the patter is.

What is the reason you’re being given for not being able to speak to your GP?

NHS guidelines aren’t very clear on it and have been for a long time - they’re actively encouraging people to speak to their GP because they were aware that many weren’t. It will vary depending on practice to practice of course, just as quality of care and the medical professionals providing it does, but the NHS is very much open for non-Covid patients.

Because of coronavirus, as I said unless it’s urgent or for critical medications then it’s telephone appointments. Even then your prescription is getting picked up and going to the chemist, which could be a 48 to 72 hour turnaround, as I said I know this because this is happening to me personally. I am also waiting on an operation to tidy up and fix my knee, but * knows when that will happen? So I’ll just plod along going to work until I can’t because it is causing me mobility issues especially given my shift pattern and job.

I’m in much the same boat. Had surgery back in January and then again in February. Couldn’t start physio when I was meant to due to Covid. Now playing a game of catch up that might never work out because of how important physio is during the initial recovery phase.

The unfortunate reality is that hospitals and GP practices are currently having to risk assess patients, and some will lose out on the face to face consultation because of that. The way the system is working now is certainly better than the previous system in the new Covid world.

People who tend to frequently visit their GP, in my experience at least, tend to be old, and differing some form of pre-existing medical condition. The exact type of people that Covid could potentially do the most damage to. If they had free reign to simply drop in to their GP and make an appointment to be seen (as is usually the case), it could get bad for that group fairly quickly. What they have in place just now, with patients being risk assessed on a case by case basis, seems perfectly logical to me.

It does suck though, because people like me and you have been left not having the medical care we would’ve ideally liked to.

I agree that the hospitals built could’ve been put to better use, but they should’ve been built nonetheless. Like I said, it’s an insurance policy, and one that we couldn’t afford not to take out, as much as anything.

The White Album by the Beatles is a pile of *.

Always heard how influential etc this album was and obviously the Charles Manson connection. Never got round to listening to it until now. Just don’t see it. Would say The Velvet Underground and the Doors were way more original for the time

Running half the length of a football pitch to scream at the referee while motioning that he should book a player should result in a yellow card itself.

Might not be unpopular, but the home top would be far better with a white collar and no yellow trim, excuse the photoshop quality but this is what I'd prefer
