Couldn't see a thread or even a post about this in transfer talk.. apparently we've bid for a left back?

    https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news...duk-split-left-back-david-colina/?ref=rl&lp=1

Celtic are monitoring the progress of Hajduk Split left-back David Colina, according to reports.

The Croatian defender has reportedly been the subject of a bid from Neil Lennon's men that could be worth around 3million Euros. Local reports in Index Sport claim the Split, however, want double what the Hoops have offered for their player.

Colina, 20, played 23 times for Hajduk Split last season in all competitions where he provided just one assist. He has represented Croatia at international level in their youth squads. He has 23 caps for under-17s, two caps at under-18s and 16 appearances with their under-19s.

Colina counts AS Monaco and Dinamo Zagreb among his former clubs. His contract at Split runs out in 2023.

Not sure I'd want this guy. Second half of the season he was on the bench as much as he was playing. 1 assist and 0 goals in 23 appearances.

So for the money being mentioned, we could get a better left back than a guy who was regularly on the bench for the 5th best team in Croatia.

I'd much prefer a more experienced LB to challenge Taylor, and even then if we're going down the route of buying a younger LB to develop why not go for hickey, who is younger, played more league games and would cost a quarter the fee this guy is touted for

It was announced YESTERDAY that the Scottish giant Celtic is interested in bringing in David Colina, the 20-year-old left-back of Hajduk and one of the best players in the league in that position.

There is no official offer yet, but the amount of three million euros was reached in an oral conversation. The people of Split allegedly want to earn even more money in this combination.

This is what the situation looked like yesterday, and today we find out the exact amount that Hajduk is asking Celtic to agree to sell to Colin.

The amount that Hajduk is asking for is twice as much as Celtic's offer

As we find out, this is the amount of six million euros, which is twice as much as what Celtic offered orally. Let us remind you, Hajduk bought Čolina from Monaco for 700 thousand euros, so in the case of a transfer, they would certainly earn many times at a great defender.

Colina passed all the young national teams, and from the Dinamo school he went to Monaco, from where Hajduk bought him in the summer of 2019. He played 23 games for Hajduk this season and has one assist.

This guy is decent, very strong not much gets past him, also check the wonder goal he scores for Croatia, if he can do that for us we will be sorted. Boli has been posted missing and unfortunately young Taylor is just not good enough defensively.

If there was a legit £3mill bid put in and they legit asking for £4.5mill then this will happen this coming weekend/start of next week.
Clubs dont generally be that far off and not try and make it work - we arent getting in to the McGinn debate on this one.

Reckon the Europa progress may help push that bid up a touch.
