I disagree with him on Turnbull but got to agree about our transfer dealings why every season is the players not signed before we play these qualifiers as Duffy should have been in weeks ago .

Of all to the people to listen to on transfer dealings, Nicholas would be a long way down the list. I'm sure he said the huns signing Defoe and Davis meant the title was theirs to lose in 2018/19.

Former Celtic star Charlie Nicholas claims Neil Lennon will be "annoyed" and "putting on a brave face" in the wake of the transfer window closing.


The Premiership champions landed AC Milan wing-back Diego Laxalt on a season-long loan but the 58-year-old reckons the deal won't satisfy the Hoops boss.

Celtic had already signing Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti, David Turnbull and secured loans for Shans Duffy and Moi Elyounoussi with the Hoops splashing out around £15m on new signings.

But unimpressed Nicholas reckons his former side have had an underwhelming window and believes Rangers are in the driving seat as both teams battle for Premiership supremacy.


He told the Express: "I said Celtic would go cheap in their pursuit of a left-back. I knew they wouldn't spend money on a defender that Neil Lennon has been ever so patient for.




I don't think Lennon has been given much of a helping hand, if I am being honest.

He had to work double time to get anything out of so-called wealthy Celtic. I'd imagine he'll be pretty annoyed this morning. I am sure he will put on a brave face but I don't think he will have got anything close to what he was looking for.

Albian Ajeti will get him goals but there are still question marks in other areas of the Celtic team.


Rangers must be looking at it thinking that they got the better of the deals.



Celtic were a stronger side last season. The main positive for Lennon, right, is that all his main players are staying, although I am not convinced Olivier Ntcham, Kris Ajer and Tom Rogic are happy.




In this mad season we have been looking short-term with the rest of the clubs because there is no real money out there.
