Not the clearest pic but spotted these fellas perched at lunch there

Is it two species or is that young ones?

Definately 2 Cormorants on the left, it's hard to make out the 2 on the right, when the pictures enlarged it also looks like something swimming just to the left of the perch.

The one in the water was the same as the black things on the left, it flew in and just went for a paddle

I was in the post office this morning, and the lady behind the counter was telling me how her son wasn't talking to her as she'd seen a Sparrowhawk, (she thinks it was a Sparrowhawk) , catching a Pigeon. She said it was holding the bird down, so she felt sorry for the Pigeon and started to shout , clap her hands and stamp her feet to get rid of the Sparrowhawk. Moments later, it flew away, leaving the Pigeon free to run under a car. Her son was angry incase the Pigeon got run over by the car.
The look on her face was priceless when I said to her that the Sparrowhawk has to eat too, it might have had chicks to feed and that it might have been it's only meal for weeks. She has promised to let nature be, no matter how cruel it can be.

Hope so Susan. It's one of the best gifts you can leave your children. A love of nature is a gift that stays with you for life.
And there's nothing wrong with creeping about in bushes Susan. We've all done it,( in the name of birding, of course)

Indeed john inherited my love of wildlife from my dad and your right creeping about the bushes is fine, not as if we're creeping around car parks * :fear: :56:sorry my sense of humour :)
