I know we need more signings than that mate I was just pointing out that we are lacking someone that can regularly put in good deliveries for Jullien and Duffy to attack :giggle1:

If Duffy is in at least another centre half is required as Ajer looks like he will be off and obviously Simunovic left. I would like that Nelsson from Copenhagen. If we don’t add another that would leave us with Elhamed, Jullien, Duffy, Welsh and Bitton assuming that Ajer is off. Definitely think another needs to be added to that. We need at least 6 options if we are going to play a 3 at the back. Elhamed is prone to picking up injuries and Bitton has had his fair share in the past also.

A first choice LWB is an absolute must as Taylor isn’t good enough. We are far to one dimensional with him in the side as most of our play has to go down the right or centrally as he can’t beat a man to get a cross in without getting it put on a plate for him by someone else. A left sided player similar to Frimpong would be ideal there.

If Rogic goes we could do with a real proper number 10 to replace him. I do think Elyounoussi is best suited there than on the left but I don’t think Christie, Turnbull or McGregor are out and out number 10s but they could all fill in there if required. Ntcham definitely isn’t but he will probably be off as well.

Also feel we could do with a winger to provide competition to Elyounoussi and Forrest. I am hoping we will stick to a 352 from now on but we will need an out and out winger for certain games. As I just mentioned above I think Elyounoussi is better centrally and Johnston is out injured and seems very injury prone so we can’t rely on him and that leaves us short.

Agree with all that mate, all we really need now is a left back

What a * signing this will be, exactly what we need.

It was obvious Brighton wanted him to go to West Ham or West Brom, he's dug his heels in though. Nowhere else he wants to be than :ynwacelti

Supposedly the £5m deal over 4 years terms was to pay £1.25m each of the 4 seasons.
They should do that instead of the £2m loan deal.
Wanna bet that Celtic will want him to stay after 1 season but Brighton will up the price to more than the £5m.
If we buy him for the £5m permanent and sell him after a couple of seasons we will make a profit.
With the loan deal we will get * all if he has a fantastic season.
    Typical short-sightedness by our board.

I'll be delighted if he comes in, he's a solid defender and brilliant in the air. Just what we need.

His stats are superb as well...

Average rating through his career of 7.28 on there, even in the EPL despite playing for Brighton he averaged rating of over 7 two seasons in a row only dropping below 7 because he was used as a sub a lot last season. When he played in the Championship from 2013-2017 he was pretty much the best centre-back every season.

This is how he ranked every season in the Champioship out of all players...

    2013/14 #1 (#1 CB)
    2014/15 #14 (#5 CB)
    2015/16 #7 (#3 CB)
    2016/17 #5 (#2 CB)

I've never seen him play but if he is half as good as what people are describing him as then he is exactly what we need

    Mon Duffy.

    Remember the name - Transferbhoy

Also just to add..... this deal has no impact on the future of Ajer. The signing allows Lennyball 3-5-2 to return

If he was available for £5m perm or £2m loan I think we would buy. If we are going with the loan there is probably a reason. Part of me thinks the player wants to come, get the 10, he can then see what his options are

Shane Duffy is set to arrive in Glasgow tomorrow to seal his move to Celtic, Record Sport understands.

The Brighton centre-back is keen to join his boyhood heroes and terms have been agreed on season-long loan.

And it’s understood that Duffy is set to head to Parkhead tomorrow to make the move official.

Celtic look to have beaten off competition from West Brom and West Ham, with the fact the 28-year-old grew up supporting the Hoops tipping things in their favour.

It's not difficult to work out that wages must have been the issue on a permanent deal.

He is on 50-60k a week at Brighton so a permanent deal was never on the cards unless he was willing to take a substantial pay cut. As with most modern day players that is highly unlikely to happen.
