He takes not a jot of criticism off me, he’s not the reason we were beaten tonight.

This. Not having it that he was at fault. He was beaten by a quality shot for their first, which came from the defence not being alert enough, and Elhamed should have dealt with the ball long before it got to him for the second.

He must be raging that he's conceded 3 or 4 goals and he has barely faced a shot. Only save I mind him making was at the weekend where he actually caught a decent strike that it was surprising he managed to pluck the ball out like it was glues to his hands.

Every other shot has went into the net it seems.

Nowt to do with him. Tonight.

Poor defensive play from Taylor for 1st goal (wouldn't blame Brown as he was left stranded) and keystone cop defending from El Hamed.

Must be * terrifying been a goalkeeper in this side.

One pass or dip of the shoulder and you have passed the whole midfield are running at the defence towards goal.

The first goal he could do nothing about, it was a well placed powerful shot, the 2nd I feel he could have done better at. But like others have said he is not the reason we lost tonight

Wasnt at fault. Was fuming at Elhamed and rightly so.

He does seem very nonchalant at times with the ball at his feet though. Confidence is good I just hope he knows when to punt it.

Feel for him, playing behind that shambles of a defence and midfield.

Good keepers don't stop the first goal, Barkas included. Exceptional keepers do. Forster gets his fingers to that imo.

Sorry, I’m not having this ‘it’s not his fault we lost tonight’ pish.

He’s as much to blame for getting beat as any other player!

I’ve no issues with him for the first goal.

The second? Are you * kidding me - that was weak goalkeeping! Yes, Elhamed made an * of it, but that doesn’t excuse Barkas from not stopping the subsequent shot. And he SHOULD have!

Teammates cover for each other’s mistakes - Barkas simply underlined Elhameds.

And no, I’m not writing him off - I’ve not seen anywhere near enough to make that kind of call - but he’s not exempt from criticism for that *-show last night. New bhoy or not!

He should have done better for the second goal.

But then again if Lennon made that change we wouldn’t be talking about it now.

I actually think this is the biggest issue. Our entire midfield can be taken out the game by a change of pace, and then you’re left with the opposition running at our backline, usually with forward players of their own for support.

Yes, the defence have been poor, but they’re offered up no real protection from midfield.

    He's been sold a dud.

The first goal, that's up to the defenders to close the space and get their body in the way, they don't and as a result he guy hits a pretty sweet shot and he goes in.

The second? I don't know, don't care to know as I don't want to watch anything to do with last night right now, I mean first off, our defenders are getting bullied again and it's ridiculous, can't remember what else happened so can't say if the keeper could have done better, probably could I guess.

I worry about Barkas in terms of shot stopping. Ball at his feet though very good. I'd have picked a keeper with longer reach but their you go.
Basically he's a carbon copy of Scott Bain. In my opinion a signing that gives me the fear. He's far too quiet. Any chance of another loan keeper coming in?
    I'd like to think so.
He'll leak goals and strikers will see the goals and think he's easy to score against because so far that seems to be the case.
Maybe it's just having very little to do he gets caught a bit cold, but he gives me the fear a little bit. Another who refuses to hit a long ball and would rather play the ball to his own corner flag, with minutes to go and chasing a goal.

Trust me on this, he's *.

Much like Bain against Cluj last year could have done better at a crucial time (2nd goal) but not really at fault the defending for that goal last night was worse than schoolboy. Elhamed had a great game to that point then pro-seeded to get beat by the bounce of the ball and failed to take the ball of their forward despite his dribbling presenting him with opportunities to take the ball and him being too tentative to win it back.
