Got shot of my sky (at last) but now in need of something else to watch normal / freeview TV as I had to send the skyQ box back.

The wife watches her soaps etc and recorded all her daft programmes to watch when I was out.

I'm going to need a new aerial installed for the TV. If anyone has a contact they would recommend?

Is there a freeview box that you can get that will record? If so are they any good and what is the general cost?

Basically, any tips or advice would be appreciated. You get so used to your sky box doing everything that you lose touch with any alternatives.

Ariel you could do yourself if youv'e got a ladder , its not difficult . I got the BT freeview recorder from Currys , £80 if i remember , does the job fine . Might need to get one of those wi-fi booster plug ins ( I had to ) to access everything .

Cheers mate. Scared of heights, so going up a ladder is not an option...... I'll have a wee look at the freeview recorder. That sounds ideal.

aren’t you married? You just foot the ladder, if you’re doing nothing else.

Aye forgot about that, he could get the LNB changed though that’s pretty simple.

He won’t need to change the whole dish mate just the LNB, if you have the old boxes then you can use them but I’m sure they only record certain channels if any. If he sorts your dish then probably best picking up a freesat box so the mrs can record her programmes.

Also make sure that they haven't cut your original cables from the HD boxes makes it easier
