You are absolutely right mate. I watched the game in a pub while having my first 8 (draught) beers in months. I may not have been paying much attention

 

Actually think after his face knock a while back he is scared to get stuck in to a lot of duels etc.

 

In that type of situation especially if the team is winning mostly remember the good things over the bad

Barca in for Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu for 40mill apparent;y, This might prompt the snake to come in for Ajer. Don't really want to lose any first teamers this season especially in defence as we really only have 2 recognised center backs. Hefty chunk of cash plus Benkovic though and I'd go for it as long as the cash supplies us with another defender also.

Milan could reignite their interest in Kris Ajer, after being put off by the asking price for their top defensive target.

The Celtic defender has been linked with a summer move to San Siro, with the Italian giants looking to beef up their options at centre-back.


While they have completed a permanent deal for Simon Kjaer after his loan from Sevilla, the Rossoneri transfer strategy has revolved around signing youngsters with resale value since Elliott Management seized control of the club from Yonghong Li.

The likes of Franck Kessie, Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer arrived last summer and were all aged 22 or younger.

Kjaer is 31 and is not viewed as a long-term partner for captain Alessio Romagnoli.


The top target this summer is David Milenkovic of Fiorentina.

However, the Tuscan club are asking for around €40million (£36million) so Tuttosport reports that Milan are continuing to monitor alternatives.

Crazy thing is Ajer is a huge lump of player and should never get bullied but it’s as if he doesn’t know how to use his body. I know he’s still young but if Jullien is getting bullied just as easily then we need someone in to sort these 2 out.

* both bullied by Dykes last season and still not learned their lesson. Get Bobo on the coaching staff and put him up against them, that’ll soon toughen them up.

 

For about a year now I've felt that he's very over-rated. As a centre back at least. He is really slow and gets turned too easily by any striker with a bit of pace. If I was an opposing manager, Ajer is a player I would be targeting as a weak spot in our defence.

Where I think he could prove to be an asset is in the defensive midfield role. We have \o/ and McGregor filling those slots just now but that's a position that requires a lot of stamina so having three options instead of two would be no bad thing. Ajer's lack of pace wouldn't be so exposed in that position and he's good enough with the ball at his feet to play there.

Push him forward and I think he'll flourish. As a centre back, I'm not a fan.

 

We are chronic at defending set plays as well, have been for a while. I think however we set up to defend them seems to not be working, Hamilton won almost every ball into our box. Teams actively target us on it, huns exploited it last season as well. It doesnt help that Ajer is so poor in the air it's unreal & add to that our team isn't the tallest. It's something that really needs addressed.

 

We have Soro as DM too, want to see more of him.

Ajer is a CB now and at 22 still young for that position.

 

Bobo's sheer mass was the reason he didn't get dominated, at times on the deck he could get turned or look clumsy.

I know it won't happen but I think a better example would be Mjallby...when did you ever see him get bullied? He wasn't the tallest for a CB but he kept it simple and done his job. That's the type of CB we need in but Johan could teach the 2 we have as well.
