People have been saying this sort of thing ever since sevco turned up in the top league. Even after we ran all over them in the 5-1 game at Celtic Park there were some(mainly huns who couldn't face reality) still claiming there was no real difference in the teams. Nicholas has, I think, said the gap has closed in the 2 previous seasons and while our games vs sevco have been more competitive the end result has been the same IE Celtic league winners by a considerable distance with Cups to go alongside. Sevco meanwhile haven't won a bean. The gap will only be truly closed should they beat us to the title and so far nothing has happened to suggest they are in a better position to do so than we are.

Got sent this clip on WhatsApp earlier.

His comparison of Gerrard and how success is measured was a shambles. Eddie Howe took Bournemouth from almost relegation in League 2 and reached the Premier League. So he has won at least 1 league title or accolade. He has arguably over achieved when it comes it down to it.

Gerrard has improved them slightly, he has done the bare minimum with regards to the finances at his disposal.

Tommy Wright has won more trophies with St Johnstone than Gerrard has done with them. And Mark Warburton got his version/ the less improved version of them, to a Cup Final.

I hate when people say because they beat us they are closing the gap. Yeah we'll Livingston beat us too, they aren't challenging for the title anytime soon.

Former Celtic star Charlie Nicholas has reportedly been axed from his long-running gig as a pundit on Soccer Saturday.

The bombshell revelation comes with Sky eyeing a shake-up the adored results show ahead of the new Premier League season

Ex- Arsenal hero Nicholas' 20-year tenure is to come to an end alongside fellow big-name pundits Phil Thompson and Matt Le Tissier with the trio clocking over 50 years service between them.

Sky's stunning move comes with the company looking to adjust amid the Covid-19 pandemic with the trio much-loved faces on the Saturday afternoon staple.

Nicholas - regarded as host Jeff Stelling's right-hand man - was famed for his on-air exchanges with the former Countdown presenter, including his infamous "Specsavers" rant at his close pal.

It remains to be seen if the 58-year-old former Celtic hero will remain with the company where he has previously served as a pundit for Scottish football and writes a weekly prediction column.

Just need to get rid of Stelling, Merson and whoever else is on. Leave a load of empty seats, the vidiprinter at the bottom of the screen and Rebs on in the background and they might have a decent show.
