Also help encourage (possibly) other players to come here if it can help rejuvenate their career.

We actually probably get them at a later development stage ability wise than we would usually sell them too. for instance we maybe would of bought moi 2/3 years before his Southampton move. And sold him on at the point his level had reached at the moment we loaned him in

I keep hoping he'll produce the goods. Still not convinced although I trust the manager's judgement. Is he better than Rogic, Christie or N'tcham? Time will tell......

I mean he plays in a different position for a start so it's pointless comparing them.

He was excellent last season until his injury.

He plays behind the striker at times, so comparing the other 3 to that position. Don't think he has the pace to play out wide to a great effect!

He's slow. Like really slow. But he's an intelligent footballer you can tell, I really love his movement and link up play. His footballing IQ is great I just wish he had another yard of pace because it stands out sometimes.

Rogic is like a granda running about in treacle sometimes.. Ely is slow though which I noticed last year and was a bit surprised by

He’s not really slow just not got that burst of pace to get past players easily, if he did he wouldn’t be here because he has everything else in his game. Similar to Rogic he has fantastic balance and quick feet to get past players.

The inside forward role suits him perfect with Taylor bombing down the outside. They both lack pace but make up for it with their quality on the ball.

When does he play behind the striker?

Very intelligent footballer, technical ability is superb. Do agree with the other poster that he's not as quick as most wingers are these days but his movement and timing of runs makes up for it. I wouldn't say he's slow either though.

I'd like to see him play as a second striker if we bring someone else in who can play LW.

Need more from this guy. Doesn't do nearly enough for his level.

Looked bright preseason but slow start in the league.

Not sure the system we are playing suits him. He plays much better when we are playing fast, free flowing football.

    Been poor in both games.

Lack of pace down the left with him and Taylor.
