El Chino Antrax the drug lord that got jailed in Amsterdam getting out next yr .
One December 2013 afternoon, a hitman on board a KLM flight from Mexico City arrived at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
That was not a business trip: the criminal, then 33 years old, liked to travel, and often document his trips around Europe on Instagram . He was wearing designer clothes and a heavy silver skull- shaped ring grimacing. His passport was fake and he had used it successfully many times. But moments after presenting his documents to Dutch customs, he was arrested.

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) had filed a red card with Interpol because it knew it was coming. Only after the Dutch authorities had the man in custody did they learn his true identity: José Rodrigo Aréchiga , the main operator of the largest drug trafficking organization in history, the Sinaloa Cartel .

Aréchiga posed as the whimsical malevolent " Chinese Anthrax . " He supervised the Sinaloa armed wing, known as Anthrax Virus, and coordinated drug shipments for the cartel's leader, Joaquín, “El Chapo” Guzmán.

"The Chinese Anthrax" was a drug trafficker of the digital age, joking with other criminals on Twitter and posting selfies drinking, posing with exotic pets, and stroking a gold - plated AK-47 .

Some reports even speculated after his arrest that the information posted on his Instagram account may have contributed to his capture .

For journalist Anabel Hernández, the story is different. With the fall of Vicente Zambada "El Vicentillo" , the now 39-year-old criminal, he would have taken his place in terms of logistics and coordination of large drug shipments that came from South America to Mexico, and which were subsequently sent to American soil.

All this changed when "El Vicentillo" decided to collaborate with the US government and arrested the young hitman.

Then, "El Chino Anthrax" was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison after his good conduct .

Considering that the drug lord has spent six years incarcerated, Aréchiga must be released from prison no later than March 31, 2021.

The derisory sentence to "El Chino" is the result of a series of recommendations made by both prosecutors and his defense attorney, Frank Rage, who told the judges that his client was sorry for all acts of vandalism and drug trafficking in who was involved.

José Rodrigo Arechiga Gamboa was born on June 15, 1980 in Culiacán, Sinaloa , the operations center of the criminal organization with the largest presence in the United States: the Sinaloa cartel.

"The Chinese Anthrax" advanced with enormous steps within this cartel, went from being one more gunman of the organization to being one of the favorite hitmen of the criminal leadership.

He formed his armed arm, called "Los Antrax", and was in charge of protecting the family, as well as the close circle of Ismael Zambada García, "El Mayo", founding leader of the Sinaloa cartel.

Just over a year after his detection, “El Chino Anthrax” pleaded guilty in the United States, agreeing to having trafficked tons of drugs for the Sinaloa cartel and having participated directly in violent acts against enemies.

At the time, US authorities branded him as "the next generation of hyper-violent drug traffickers carrying out the activities of 'Mayo' Zambada and the Sinaloa cartel . "

"Chino Antrax is one of the highest-ranking Sinaloa cartel bosses ever prosecuted in the United States," said US Attorney Laura Duffy.

Thus, José Rodrigo Arechiga Gamboa escaped the death penalty, however, the minimum sentence for this type of crime is ten years, and they also took a million dollars from his fortune.
