Swear to * this wee guy actually poses for me. This is the second time I've been standing a couple of yards away and he just looks at me :100:

There's nothing better Susan than getting in amongst all the weeds, bramble and grasses and being rewarded with a great sighting or getting a good photo. It makes getting cut, bruised and, for me anyway, getting lost all the better.

The pictures were brilliant Susan. The crazy things we do just to get one sighting of an animal/bird. That sighting makes it all worthwhile.

Looking out the window, I noticed a parent green woodpecker and two fledglings in the garden. We get green woodpeckers from time to time, but it's the first time I've ever seen any young ones around! Already, one of the chicks seems to have the typical habit of looking up and scanning the sky for sparrowhawks etc., before looking down and digging around for ants and beasties, or taking a drink! Got black currants growing in the garden and just saw a female blackbird land, eat 3 and fly away, I’m the same, can only eat 2/3 of them at a time as they’re never sweet, really ripe ones are just less bitter

I collect loads of brambles, wash them and freeze them for smoothies. I'm still working through last years!
