Reports today also suggested that Celtic had kicked out AC Milan's offer of around £13.5million for Kristoffer Ajer.

But while the Norwegian international IS on their wishlist, SunSport understands the Italians have not yet made a bid.

Milan would likely need to bid around £20m for the Hoops to even consider cashing in this summer.

I stand by, rather he stays and we bring in a 3rd CB option to rotate with him and Julien.

But £22.4million plus Musacchio (and perhaps Gabbia?) take that deal every day of the week!

Good money, replacement sorted and a youngster for sell on value in a couple of years. No brainer.

Alas, it is just a rumour and likely pie in the sky. Far too great a deal to be believable.

Would sort out any drop in money from Covid while also keeping our defensive options as they are (Julien and Musacchio as key). Too good to be true.

    You can't knock that back..

I still like him despite slagging him a lot last season. He can still be a top player of he simplifies his game and gets back to basics..

    Totally agree.
I feel he over thinks things and complicates it for himself, probably due to knowing there is no one else to come in if he * up, so tries too hard and ends up * up.
    Catch 22 with him.

But a deal like that from Milan you can't knock it back.

    I don’t rate Musacchio anytime I’ve watched Serie A he’s been honking.

Man was rock solid for Villarreal many moons ago. He spent a lot of time on the physio bench since then. Probably on a high wage as well and out with injury till late October. If we were to sell Kris we need a man who we can slot in next to Jullien right away, not another injury ridden defender.

Aye I remember him being superb for Villarreal but he looks a shadow of the player at Milan, I’m not sure if he needs a change of club or if the injuries are taking their toll. He also could hardy get in the Argentina starting 11 and their defence has been honking for about a decade.

I'd take 25mill euro and gabbia all day long, then sign an established centre half jullien style preferably with a left foot and we are fairly set. Gabbia I haven't seen play but he has a fair amount of football for the u20s and established now with u21s. You don't play centre half for Italy unless you can defend. Musacchio is injured and surely on big bucks, dunno about him, I'd rather take gabbia more money and buy a player Lennon actually wants to be first choice alongside jullien. Gabbia also recently played a few seria a games

Gabbia has to want to move for it to happen though and if he thinks moving to Scotland will affect international chances he might say no got the other carrot though that if he does well here he has a chance of epl football

I’ve only seen Gabbia a couple of times, but he seems to be rated at Milan so I’d be surprised if they let him go unless it was a loan.

From what I’ve seen he’s got a touch of the Ajer about him, in that he’s quite comfortable stepping out from the back and spreading passes. He’s never really stood out defensively, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing for a centre back.

Ye I agree, but what we can promise him is an easier route to regular first team football and then an opportunity on performance and development to return to serie a. But I can imagine for a lad playing with his childhood team and suddenly he's packed on a plane off to Glasgow might to go down the best.

I wouldn't be interested in loaning gabbia, we have our own centre backs to development rather than developing other teams, it should be a purchase with some sort of clause that AC have first refusal if/when he is to be sold. The only players we should be loaning are players who would be established guaranteed starters with us. The above article does indicate how Milan firstly are so eager for ajer but also willing to maybe let gabbia go
