Watched It Follows last night. Horror film, started out alright, quite creepy, but got a bit weird as it went on. Worth a bash if you've * all else planned to watch. 6.5/10

You should've left. Bit weird, strange ending. First thing I've seen Kevin Bacon in since he appeared in EE adverts. 5.5/10

Garnet's Gold. Docu/Film. Follows Garnet as he gears himself up for a treasure hunt in the Scottish Highlands. Includes alot of self reflective themes about getting older, his feelings of a life wasted, his regrets of the past and dreams for his future. Maybe not for everyone but I'd give it a solid 7.5/10.

    Watched it on Amazon prime.

Don't let Go - No bad, again a bit weird. Seen quite a few films recently with twists where I can only assume the twists make more sense to the writers. Was decent enough though. 6/10

The Lighthouse, was an interesting watch, thought Willem Dafoe was excellent, one of the top actors for me. Would give the movie a 7.5/10.

I saw Midsommar when I was in Sweden last year and at the time did think it was incredibly weird, more than anything else.

I watched it again a few weeks ago and picked up on a lot of things that I didn't the first time. The foreshadowing is among the best I've seen.

But overall, it is overwhelmingly weird. And a bit unsettling. I can't decide whether it's brilliant or awful.

    Leave No Trace

Good film about a father and daughter living in the woods, having to reintegrate back into society. Ben Foster as excellent as always. Thomasin McKenzie is definitely an actress to keep an eye on. Really good in this and Jojo Rabbit.

    Training Day

Taken me too long to watch it. Denzel Washington at his best in it. Cracking film.

Fallen - 5.5/10 Denzil Washington film id not seen before. One of my favourite actors but wasn't my favourite film, watchable but nothing special.

The Vast of the Night - 8/10 Most I've enjoyed a film in a long time, thought it was really well made with great soundtrack. Hadnt heard about it or any of the actors til I read about it tonight but really liked it.

Dunkirk 5/10 Some good scenes but thought the storylines were kind of overlapping, and the music was * annoying. There's a lot of soundtracks and movie scores I really like, and it's an important part of the film, but it was just constant all the way through it, was irritating for me.

Extraction - 7/10 Found this surprisingly entertaining, don't usually like modern action type movies that much but thought this was decent.

I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I thought it was an outstanding film - the whole kit and caboodle... plot, direction, acting, cinematography, sound. 10/10

Speaking of lighthouses, I recently watched The Vanishing - a take on the Flannan Isles lighthouse crew disappearance. * title, but the movie was actually pretty decent! Peter Mullan was his usual excellent self, and it was the best Gerard Butler performance in years! 6/10
