Just been informed Aesculapian snakes are living along the canals here in London. Haven’t seen any myself yet but I’ve found some images of them on the canals taken by passers by. Can get up to 2m in length apparently. Thankfully not venomous but they will constrict around small dogs and cats.

will be walking with eyes pealed in future . fair * to whoever took the photos, I wouldn’t be getting that close

I found a blackbirds chick a few days ago. The neighbours dogs made the cat drop it so I kept it overnight I'm my workshop.

The next morning I heard two blackbirds doing their alarm sounds so I had a look. It had flow out of the workshop window and was sitting in my raspberries. I picked it up & showed it to it's parents then put it on top of next doors shed (flat roof).

It ran like * away from me right back into next doors garden. They have 7 cats.

    Life can be so cruel.

This very wee guy was kickin about the house yesterday, he was actually hopping!! Proper jumping rather than scurrying about, @Minty what's the script wi that? I popped him out the window once I got a hold of him. Probably just under the the size of a 5p by the way, tiny.

Aye what tarboltontim said. Jumping spiders are popular as pets. They’ve even been trainable.
