With Covid-19 pushing more people to use contact-less payments, are we beginning to see the end of using cash?

I normally use contactless on public transport, supermarkets or at the petrol station but still like to take out cash when out for a drink to keep track of how much of a reprobate I've been. A lot of pubs round Parkhead are cash only so you need it anyway.

Do you still use cash? And if you do, will you be using it less going forward because of the pandemic?

I tend not to use cash at all, even less post Covid.

Also having two teenage kids it's never good to have money in the wallet or lying about as the blood sucking leeches soon get it from you.

    Hate using my bank card.

But I’ve been using it more recently than I have in the past.

Only when I can't use my card. Never carry cash around though.

Use both and hope we don’t go into a cashless society, to be honest.

Cash is needed for illegal drugs, alcohol and tobacco,as long as there’s senseless prohibition cash will be needed, in USA they reckon that the cocaine market alone brings in $6billion a year

Cash mostly. The big brother thing worries me.

Plus my weed man would laugh at me if I tried to pay by card.

Only use cash when there's absolutely no other option - to be honest, it annoys me when i have to. Always prefer to pay by debit, or by bank transfer if required.

Only to tip delivery drivers for the past 3 months but my SMA tin is running low on change now.

Even the windae cleaner accepts a transfer so with no boozers opened I’ve had no need for cash.

Use the contactless option on my phone to pay for most things day to day. Can only remember using cash to pay for a parking meter, in the last year or so.

I find myself using my card more and more but still use cash.

Recently I have been trying to stick to card as much as possible for obvious reasons.

Don’t have a contactless card though. Last time I got a new card I just assumed it would be contactless but it wasn’t. Contactless has advantages and disadvantages but they are handy as * :giggle1:

Never bothered with Apple Pay but might try it.

Yeah, use both. Mainly card but will use cash if I'm buying a loaf or a drink etc.

I got looked at like i was from another century when I told the boy in the shop my card was only chip and pin. Heaven knows what he would have done if i pulled out some cash.

I rarely used cash prior to lockdown. I usually keep a small amount on me if I'm going into a small shop or going out and tipping waiting staff.
