So relieved about the reviews this is getting. First one is my favourite game of all time, but this one had me concerned it would be a disappointment after being hyped for it for 7 years - what with the leaks, and the fact Naughty Dog has lost so many people over the last few years.

Pre-ordered it a while back. I'll be rattling through it next weekend.

The only criticism I've read is that they've went slightly over the top with how brutal the game is..

Looks good, I liked the original, not one of my classics but enjoyable, just thought some of the monsters were a bit pish, think when they start these super monsters and stuff it just kinda spoils the game a little.

Look forward to the story though.

Any word on the multiplayer? Heard it’s gonna be a stand-alone game?

Don't think they are doing one unless it will come post release at some point. It's supposed to be quite a long campaign though.

Yeah the multiplayer was good. Still had the crafting, and collecting items to buy equipment, like armour and weapons etc.

    The DLC is great.

About 6 and a half hours into this. Limiting myself to a few hours a day, so I don't end up completing it in one weekend.

It's been brilliant so far. Potential to outdo the first game.

Still not bought it due to the honking reviews about the massive spoilers.

A lot of those reviews came out well before anyone could have completed the game. It is decent.

(edit) * sake i think i know how it ends :giggle1:

This just arrived in the post, can't wait to get stuck in:50:don't know why people are complaining about the * reviews, as it's currently sitting at 95 percent on meta critic, and being hailed as one of the best games of the generation. People should not look at spoilers if it's going to ruin the game for you in the first place.

Replaying the first one before I rattle through this.

Absolute classic and easily the best game of all time for me. Even the DLC is phenomenal.

Really hope part 2 lives upto it.

Gameplay brilliant but I can see why the majority hate the story after loving the characters of the first game.

    Just finished it.

Still need to properly digest it, but initial reaction is...disappointed. As I've said, the first game is my favourite game of all time, so this one had a lot to live up to. But initial thoughts are it doesn't hold a candle to the first game.

The first half of the game was great. Joel's death was a shock to the system, so early in the game and the way it happened. But exploring Seattle with Dina was fun and the gameplay is much improved over the first game. Liked the whole aspect of the WLF and the Scars, with their creepy cult vibe.

Then all of a sudden you're controlling what is essentially the villain for * knows how many hours, to the point where you're beating the * out of Ellie...what the *? I get they were trying to make you sympathise with Abby, but really? Give us a DLC to explore her backstory if you must, not half of the main game. The Yara and Lev stuff was just a complete detour from the story we actually care about. Almost half the game goes by without Ellie, Dina or Tommy. It's baffling.

Best bits in the game were the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie, by a distance.

After seeing the scores the game got, in comparison to some scathing fan reviews, I had read and assumed many of the bad reviews were from people who didn't like the LGBT stuff in the game - and no doubt plenty of idiots were * off with that. But now completing the game, I totally understand a lot of the hate.

Looking forward to more people in here finishing it to see what they say.
