It’ll be Fletcher, a guy with zero coaching experience.

    Gets it but etc etc.

Fletcher is a champions league winner, celtic fan and has a wealth of experience playing at the highest level.

Been impressed by the way he talks about football on Sky when he was on.

    Bring him home!

I don't care if Fletcher is a fan or not. Professional footballers and especially someone with his career are never "fans" like you and I anyway. Its a pointless conversation.

The experience, ideas and knowledge of the game and training will be pretty * good. As mentioned, Duff was hardly a lauded coach when he came.

    I'd be happy with him.

Great player and bags of experience but Lennon Kennedy and Fletcher weren't exactly the most creative players

Doubt the rat was pulling off Cruyff turns at Newbury Town either.

A lot of players were extremely complimentary of Duff who had basically zero coaching experience. Similar with Toure and Maloney.

Fletcher is a Champions League winner, former captain of Man Utd & Scotland, trusted by arguably the best manager of the last 40 years, has experience of coming through Scottish academy football.

Why wouldn't we want to have a guy like that on board?

Hopeful Neil Lennon admits he is closing in on appointing a new coach after Damien Duff’s departure earlier this month.

Celtic are poised for to add to their backroom staff with the likes of former Parkhead stars Stephen McManus and Darren O'Dea touted for the key role.

Duff was highly regarded at the club but called time on his stay with the Premiership champions to spend more time with his family.

Lennon hopes to be able to fill the vacancy shortly as he looks to step up preparations ahead of the Hoops 10 in a Row title tilt.

He said: “We’re hoping to have someone in place next week. We’ve identified three of four options but I can’t say anything yet.”

Players compliment their current coach shocker...

Playing career’s have literally nothing to do with coaching though. There’s countless examples of great players being clueless about coaching other players.

There’s a difference between wanting someone on board at the club and just handing them a key job based on nothing more than who they are. We’ve already seen the likes of McManus and O’Dea get handed big roles in the academy simply because of who they are and they’ve been disasters.

If we think Fletcher has potential then give him a chance in the academy working under group of coaches to learn and let him work his way up.

For our first team coach then I’d rather we went out and got someone with at least some experience.
