Literally the best news that we wanted when it was apparent that the season had to end. Still lots of uncertainty going into a transfer window that may not happen in the same form as usual.

Him and Forster were everybody's bit of business they wanted. Things haven't changed in that regard.

    Anything else is a bonus.

even a 1yr extension will seem like a new signing for us.
give him what he wants celtic, we want him slamming in the goals while we go for the 10.

The fact that there's even talks is a good sign. He's obviously up for sticking around a bit longer.

Fingers crossed he signs a new deal and he’s here for the 10. I just saw that Batshuayi from Chelsea who has one year on his deal linked with a £33mil move he scored 1 in 16 in PL and looks like over last two years he’s scored about 6 in 30. It does look like he scored goals elsewhere and got off to a good start on loan at Dortmund two years ago before a serious injury but if he’s worth that I would want £40mil plus for Eddy when he does go given he’s 4 years younger and in far better form.

It would be brilliant if we could sign him up on a new deal.

It all depends on what teams are all willing to bid for him. He is well sought after it seems by a lot of clubs, if you can get a bidding war started then it's hard to say how much we could get. We have slowly but surely started to get more realistic fees for our top players, with Dembele going for £20m and more recently Tierney for £25m. There is a lot more hype surrounding Edouard, and a lot more clubs after him than the previous two mentioned. The big uncertainty is what fees are going to be like after coronavirus however.

Exactly what I wanted us to do, give him £30K per week plus bonuses to keep him here for 10 and then add in a big buy out clause. Glad the board are taking next season very seriously.

He is a quality player who has good goalscoring records in Belgian Pro league, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga. Also scored 16 in 29 games for Belgium. At Palace he scored 6 in 13 games. Chelsea just hasn't worked for him.

FRESH from lifting the Dafabet Celtic Player of the Year Award for the 2019/20 campaign, Odsonne Edouard underscored the importance of clinching a 10th consecutive league championship at Celtic – to everyone involved at the club.

“Every season we want to win the title,” said Edouard in an interview with Celtic TV. “This year is nine in-a-row, and next year I hope it is 10 in-a-row. This will be historic for the club.

“It’s very important for the club, for the fans, for the team, for all of the staff. We now need to go back to work for next season, and I hope that we can win this title for 10 in-a-row.”

Speaking of his own routine throughout lockdown, the striker said he’s worked hard on his own but naturally misses linking up with colleagues on the training pitch at Lennoxtown.

As for his own favourite highlight during his Player of the Year-winning season, well, there could only be one goal that tops the French forward’s personal list.

He added: “I’ve worked hard throughout lockdown. Working alone is not easy, but I’ve kept my fitness up and I look forward to getting back to training.

“As for season highlights, the goal at Ibrox back in September is one of my best goals of the season, scored in an important game. I’m happy about that, and now I want go back to working hard, to try and score again against Rangers.”
