This could be one for the old-school Celtic fans. I'm a Celtic shirt collector that is looking for some information on some historical jerseys worn by the team. Here is what I'm wanting to know:

    - On November 02, 1987 Celtic defeated Queen's Park 2-0 in the Glasgow Cup. I can't find any photos or footage of this. What I'd like to know is, which kit did Celtic wear that day?

    - On March 02, 1988 Celtic defeated Dunfermline Athletic 4-0. Mick McCarthy played in that game and wore the number "5" shirt. Can anyone tell me if he wore short-sleeves or long-sleeves that day?

    - On September 07, 1988 Celtic lost 1-0 to Honved. Chris Morris played for the Hoops in that game wearing the number "2" jersey. Can anyone tell me if he wore short-sleeves or long-sleeves that day?

    - On October 26, 1988 Celtic lost 1-0 to Werder Bremen. Chris Morris played for the Hoops in that game and wore number "2". Can anyone tell me if he wore short-sleeves or long-sleeves that day?

If anyone can help me out with my questions here I'd be most grateful!

    Thanks in advance!

Cheers for all your help there Marty! That's 3 of my questions down, just the Glasgow Cup game to go. Was that competition considered a competitive one or just a friendly one?

It was a senior competitive competition until 1989.

(It was one part of Celtic's quintuple in 1967.)

Aye, as Jezza said above, it was a competitive senior comp. The season in question, 1987, the competition was not completed. This seemed to happen a few times as there were no dates available to fit the ties, or nobody could be arsed really. One of the reasons it was revamped to an unders tournament.

We beat the sheep at pittodrie 3 days before the match and drew 1-1 with diets 4 days after and both were away.

Yeah I knew they didn't complete it that year and that it was downgraded altogether not long after so I was wondering if by then the club might not be taking it seriously. Having said that they did put out a strong team on the day

Haha 3 days. Okay thanks matey.

Both definitely did wear long sleeves sometimes. Infact Mick wore them on his debut against Dortmund, he just had them pulled up.

Yeah I wasn't sure if they were away or the game was at a neutral venue with it being a cup game. If they did indeed wear their away kit that day it would've been the one with the regular Celtic crest, not the centenary version above, they only wore that one in 1988.

So that could have been 3 away fixtures in a row!
