One of the great seventies bands. Brian Connolly, the lead singer, was born in Hamilton, I think, so may well have been a Tim. Once they started writing their own songs, they became a really distinctive band, with Mick Tucker one of the great rock drummers and Steve Priest a great bass player. They definitely weren't lightweight. Their music still stands up today, and The Sweet haven't been given the respect they deserve. Sweet * Adams and Desolation Boulevard are still great albums.
