It's about how he gels with other players in training too. I think it is fair to judge a guy when training anyway, it's how people prove they will put 100% in.

Well you have ur opinion but if training was the be all and end all then we would never had the chance to see some of Jinky brilliance McCourt brilliant goals , Mcavennie during his centenary year, Hartson and his over 100 goals, Maradona at his peak, I could go on. As I said too much is maelde of fitness in the modern day, that's one of the reasons the real entertainers are so short in supply

Was Harston a bad trainer?Even so he was a proven goalscorer in England. I also don't remember mccourt being all that. When it comes to players like Maradona they were very skillfully and he was one of the best so him and Shved is not a reasonable comparison. If you have a winning team, which Celtic do, you have to win your shots via training. He obviously hasn't shown in training that he is good enough to displace Forrest, Elyounoussi, Mikey or Christie.

The game has changed massively, even in the last 10-15 years. Fitness and athleticism are everything now. If you have the skill it's almost criminal that you don't work on those two as the skill can't really be taught....

My point is not every player is a great trainer, in respect of running till they drop type, and Big John is the type that running wasn't his strength at any point of his career that's what I'm trying to say. But come match day u couldn't get a better hold up player. Shved looks a very fit lad and the league he played in wasn't a Diddy league either. Imo, and it's something that MON did, is that Lenny has his Favourites and unless they are injured its pretty much stuck on they play every week. James Forrest is an example of that. He can go large spell of matches with little input but starts every single week. It's not strange that when Roberts was at the club he raised his standard making him virtually undroppable. All I'm getting at is sometimes players need games to show their worth and in Shved case, imo, he's been given a raw deal.

    Imagine his mindset.

not being on lockdown with his wife.

I would be gutted if she was my wife also!

Maybe spending time with some of the lads will no doubt help with his understanding of the language. When hes at home with the wife and family, they`re not going to be speaking English to each other. So in a perverse way, this may actually help him settle

MARYAN SHVED is a loan target for former club Karpaty Lviv — if Neil Lennon lets him go.

The Celtic winger played just three times last term as he struggled to adjust to Scottish football.

Ukrainian Shved reports back to training this week as he looks to make his mark with the Hoops.

But Karpaty are on standby to take the 22-year-old back home if Lennon sanctions a loan deal this summer.

Oleksandriya are also chasing Shved, but he has insisted he’ll only return to his boyhood club.

Barring a short stint at Sevilla, Shved spent his entire career with Karpaty before joining Celtic in January 2019.

He was immediately loaned back before joining up with Lennon’s squad last summer.

The winger will be given the chance to prove himself when he teams up with Celts this week.

But Karpaty would take him back in a heartbeat as they bid to recover from a horror season.

The squad is currently in quarantine after 25 members of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

I would love for this guy to make it with us. Btw if hes going out on loan again I would prefer to be another uk team so he can work on his English. Seems to be the thing that's holding him back here

If he's ever going to make it then he needs to be loaned out to a SPFL club, sending him back to Ukraine would be a backwards step if he is homesick. Only 22 as well, hopefully Lenny can get through to him.

I haven't seen any of him in reserve games, but listening to those who have, he hasn't looked great.
