Hope we are looking at Niclas Eliasson still to replace Hayes and Boli if he leaves. Seems a good age and can play lwb or left wing

    Are we?

Kouassi was surplus to requirements and Hayes was a squad player that likely wanted a longer-term contract than what we offered.

Players run out of contract every season. We haven't seen who is coming in yet. We cannot say we are cutting costs until we see who comes in. The earliest you can really judge is the start of the qualifiers.

So that’s 4 out the door-Kouassi, Hayes, Joso & Calvin Miller, would be good to shift Gordon, Ralston, Benyu, the 2 yanks, Hendry.

So we are definitely in Europe in some form since we only need to play one qualifying round?Surely we can spend money knowing the minimum we get next year is £25 mill from europe

our wage bill is still high and would expect us to sell one or 2 to offset the losses. Especially during a pandemic

Aye, I think we'll be trying our best to cut off the bloat in our squad but then that's not different to any other season.

Gordon must be on a fair stack considering his last deal was offered right after Chelsea were in for him. If we manage to pull off a Forster deal then there's no point paying similar out to Gordon simply to be 3rd choice.

Between Gordon, Hayes and Kouassi you must be looking at the bones of £50k a week for them. Add in whatever Arzani and Bauer's loan wages.

I think cutting costs suggests we might struggle financially but even if Covid-19 didn't hit, I think this summer was always going to be about using our resources more effectively.

Trim off the bloat and add 3 or 4 bits of quality and we'll be better on and off the park.

@Kiwibhoy27 our wage bill as per the accounts are for the group and club as a whole that’s every single member of staff at Celtic from the players to the managers to the admin staff, club shop, tour guides the lot! Everyone outwith the first team are on furlough that’s the guts of a few million covered right away from March to July plus NI contribution and pension contributions.

Celtic have cash reserves of over £40m and also a overdraft facility of over £6m.

We expect our financial performance to be consummate with previous year which means we expect to make a significant profit even allowing for the season being ended early so no doubt that £40m will grow again.

celtic have removed 5 loan players and 4 first team players from the squad thus reducing the wage bill of the first team by around £75k plus a week as of 31st May 2020.

As this financial year ends on 30th June 2020 we will experience no significant losses on income.

from 1st July 2020 our new accounting period starts any reductions could easily be covered by entry to the UCL groups or a sale of a player with the later being possible it isn’t inevitable neither are these losses you keep going on about, possible yes but it is also possible we could break over £100m turnover again in the next financial year!

Celtic before a ball is kicked have

£22m in basic season ticket sales we will sell season tickets for next season with it being 10 in a row on the basis of what it means!
    £7m from Adidas
    £2m from Magners
    £3m from Dafabet

that’s £34m in the pot straight away

I'm not disagreeing with it just seems like with lots of businesses we might need to cut our costs accordingly a bit. Lots of companies will be doing the same is the point I'm making. It's they way it'll be as i can't see fans inside stadiums for a bit yet either so club will need to budget for this etc is all im saying.

Yeah I know everyone will need to cut cloth but right now we don’t have any losses of significance (according to the board) in the current climate obviously budgets will be effected for every club. Celtic most likely will lose a player of value this summer could be an Ajer or Edouard but that’s normal practice but on the other hand teams might not want to pay what we want and players who previously where out our price range could become available.
