I liked the big man but 125 appearances in 5 years ain't a great return. I hope we have a quality replacement lined up because now is not the time to get it wrong.

Wish him. All the best, think we thought we'd get a profit on this. Which is a pity.

 

He leaves with a decent collections on medals but at the end of the day, never kicked on, was too unreliable.
I don't reckon he will be replaced, suspect the 2 promising youngsters will be utilized to fill his spot.
A bit like Boyata, we could have turned a buck with proper planning, am sure there was talk of a 6M bid a few years back, not bad for a player who never really nailed down a spot.

Decent player when on his game for us. But can see why the club decided to not take the year option given his injury record. The promise shown by young Welsh last season might have been a factor as well in the decision.

 

Ballsy move to release Hayes and Jozo.

Hope it means we've got something lined up.

 

Cutting costs getting rid of some deadwood hopefully Hendry and a few others next can see us promoting some youth. Also bring in a couple of signings lots more out goings though

He dry still has 2 years left, at best a loan out for him.

 

His injury problems were a big concern. A quality player on his day, but his day was nowhere near often enough.

I hope we have money to spend and aren't cost cutting. We can't make a mess of 10 in a row.

 

I was thinking more right side of a back three than one of two central defenders. I'm sure he's played there for us, if only briefly. With that system there's no need for an out and out right back, with Frimpong and Forrest both capable of playing right wing back. If we play 4 at the back ,then we only need two central defenders from Julien/Ajer/Bitton/Welsh/Other youth player.

Not shedding any tears over this, but I'll always remember Jozo for the promising start he made when he first came in and the great moments he gave us on occasion.

I liked the big man myself. I do remember a midweek game though against Motherwell where he was outmuscled for the entire game by Stephen Pearson. Wasn't a fan of him that night.

 

Should have happened years ago in all honesty. Could be a good player, some decent phases overshadowed largely by injury and unreliability on the field.
