Not only that his ability as a footballer is underrated as anything, people forget what he can do because he usually leaves it to those around him who are more suited to get forward, or to create. But he is the absolute lynchpin we've built this level of success around

He's guilty of downplaying his own ability as well.

You don't get the unwavering support of manager after manager after manager without being an excellent player. I would say this was arguably one of his best seasons for us, in terms of performances.

Think that's why he's able to do what he does so well for us, he is aware at what he can do, but he knows others are better at it. So he makes them better, covers, controls, leads and when the others aren't doing it as much he'll do something like the pass for Dembele in the what's the goalie doing goal.

    He's completely selfless.

    It gives me joy.

ON May 16, 2020, Scott Brown celebrated 13 years at Celtic. Signed by Gordon Strachan in 2007, the midfielder has since won 10 league championships, five Scottish Cups and six League Cups at Paradise.

It's a phenomenal record, made all the more impressive by the fact he’s captained the Hoops to all nine of the current nine-in-a-row run of league titles – matching the late, great Billy McNeill’s achievement of 1974 in the process.

“The first season I was here, I won the league with Gordon Strachan,” Brown told Celtic TV. “That was a great experience. I’d won one trophy with Hibs before, but to come in and win the league straight away, to get that medal around my neck, it got me wanting more.

“The second season wasn’t as good, things didn’t really work out with Tony when he came in, and then Neil came in and showed us what winning was. He taught us that no matter what happened, we should always believe in each other and work hard for each other, and he put those winning attributes into everybody, and that’s what makes him such a good manager.

“When Brendan came in, he wanted us to play attractive football, playing from the back and the gaffer has come in again, jumped on that, he knew we had a good team in place, and he wanted to add in his some of his own qualities.

"He’s done that, and we’re scoring more goals, winning more games, and being more relentless. That’s something he keeps saying, and that’s what we’ve done over the last couple of seasons since he’s been back here.”

Brown said the high expectations of the Paradise faithful week-in, week-out drives every player in the dressing room – as does their own relentless want for success.

The captain added: “We need to make sure that we win. The fans expect us to win, they expect us to play good and attractive football as well. As soon as you come here, it doesn’t matter which club you come from, you need to be a born winner to play here.

“There have been a lot of players who have come here in the past and have struggled to do that, and then on the other hand, we’ve had other players that have come here and have thrived under that pressure.

"It’s a great place to be, it’s a great place to play football and it’s a great place to win trophies as well.”

The * bet me £50 for charity that Tony Watt would score more goals than Griff when Tony moved to Hearts.

The scumbag did not make the payment.

He's been amazing, utterly amazing, what a leader..

However it shouldn't be forgotten how dynamic we were with McGregor and Christie as the two in midfield. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Lenny has tried those. I get its difficult to leave Broonie out, especially as we approach the 10, but to continue to get the best out of Broonie and to do what's best for the team, I'd like to see it tried again, on occasion.

Aye I'm pretty sure Lenny hasn't tried McGregor in the 6 yet..

He's opted for Bitton I think..

Next season HAS to see him being used more sparingly. I can't ever remember seeing Broony subbed off if no injured. When we're pumping side's he never gets off at the hour mark..

McGregor there. Soro. Someone has to step up and take over more often than no next season for me..
