Scotland's top flight clubs will hold an emergency summit with SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster as they prepare to rubber-stamp a historic decision to hand the league title to Celtic.

Record Sport understands the video conference call has been arranged for Friday afternoon after Hampden top brass received written confirmation that all Premiership clubs, including Rangers, have agreed not to object to the season being ended without all fixtures being played to a finish.

We revealed on Wednesday night that the unanimous decision was in fact taken last Friday, during crisis talks between the top 12 and newly promoted Dundee United.

But, now that the minutes from those talks have been handed over to Doncaster, the league’s governing body is finally ready to confirm that the 2019/20 campaign cannot possibly be completed against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.

Friday’s discussions are the final step before the season can be officially shut down.

After 81 per cent of clubs voted through the SPFL’s controversial raft of emergency measures proposals during the Good Friday disagreement, it was agreed that no final decision to end the top flight season would be taken until Doncaster had consulted with all 12 clubs.

And, now that Aberdeen have confirmed that none of them intend to fight against the closure, it’s anticipated that an agreement will be ratified before the end of the day.

With some cash strapped clubs increasingly desperate to get their hands on a slice of £7.5million worth of end of season prize money, the SPFL could now be urged to act with urgency.

A source said: “Assuming there are no late changes of heart from the top flight clubs, it’s possible that an official announcement could be made as soon as Friday evening.

But it’s probably more likely that an agreement will be reached around the table and the final decision to crown Celtic champions and relegate Hearts will be announced by the SPFL early next week.”

The news came shortly after angry Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack insisted his club did not botch the minutes of last Friday’s meeting which effectively handed the title to Celtic .

We told on Thursday how the Dons, who had hosted the video conference call, had to change the wording of the crucial minutes on Tuesday morning after receiving complained that the critical decision had not been accurately recorded.

Cormack confirmed all of this in a snippy letter to fellow clubs while insisting repeatedly that the original written account of the discussions had been clearly marked as a ‘draft’.

Cormack wrote: “Steven Gunn (AFC Director of Football) went round each of the clubs. All clubs accepted that should the league be called by the SPFL, taking account of the latest Government and medical advice etc., then the clubs would not object to that course of action.”

In a separate section entitled ‘draft minutes’ Cormack went on to confirm that, on Tuesday morning, both Celtic and Hamilton raised the issue of wrongly worded minutes arguing that it was misleading to suggest a ‘consensus’ had been reached when, in fact, the decision had been unanimous.

Cormack went on: “I repeat, these were DRAFT minutes.

“Kevin MacIver (AFC Finance Director) circulated these on Sunday 10th of May at 1:58 pm asking for comments.

“No comments were received by any club until Tuesday, when Michael Nicholson (at 10:00am) and Les (at 10:07am) sent emails.

Both requested the exact same, one-word change to the DRAFT minutes to say “unanimous” and not “consensus”.

“This change was made immediately, without question, and resent to all clubs, removing the word DRAFT.”

I wasnt aware the local hookers had such a say in these matters?

Jokes aside- its the only fair way. I would much rather win it on the field but that wont happen. Champagne at the ready troops :party22:

Cant see this season finishing now.
And at the end of the day, tainted titles will only live in their mutant pea brain heeds. If they want to get the crayons out, learn how to draw an asterisk, then so *, they can also stick a few against titles that were cheated by the EBT all stars.

This was clearly the way this season was going to finish for a while now once it was clear there was no safe way that games could resume before the end of June. The time just was not there. From our own standpoint as much as it sucks not winning the title officially on the field we were miles clear and we were worthy winners of the title once again. It is not the way we would want to officially be crowned champions but it was nonetheless a well deserved title success all the same.

We're a matter of days away from the nine.

I literally couldnae give two flying * about asterisks' or accusations. IMO it makes just that wee bit sweeter watching Der Hun work himself into a slavering frenzy about being cheated out of something that was never going to be theirs.

My concern is how WE handle it. PSG released a very classy statement, acknowledging front line health workers and thanking their supporters etc. I would like to see the same from us.

No braggadocio, no 9in a row sabre rattling, just a quiet, authorative acknowledgment that this title is deserved and a thank you to supporters. Obviously with a wee nod to next season's tremendous opportunity.

what a *, what was the point of using the word consensus when it was a unanimous decision ?

aberdeen * up got caught and exposed and get angry about being told to correct the minutes

there really is so much skullduggery in scottish football, what was the intention ? to insult us and appease the huns *

one word change to make it not a draft anymore lol

Ceferin was also asked about European competitions, with Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain still in the Champions League. He said: "I don't see why the French authorities would ban a match without spectators"

what a total clown. Has he not heard about social distancing being enforced by fines, police charges etc -
though i am not sure whether France impose fines etc there are other countries that do. Ceferin really needs to 'think' before making such statements. Now if Uefa were to come out and say get these games played at any cost and send us the bill.... we will pay for all tests and help subsidise clubs losing money at the gate !

I am sure games could be played if money was no object, the UFC are putting on events but these are new deals with TV and they can budget the costs into the event. Lets see how Germany / Italy get on and see what the costs involved are. The leagues that don't have to play early qualifiers for Uefa competitions are not so pressured for next season. Each league must make their own decision without any bullying or coercion from Uefa ;-)

Imo we have beaten them fair and square. We did what we needed to do after the winter break and they folded again. And then obviously all this happened which isn't our fault. If the season is deemed finished then so be it. We are champions fair and square.

(Although yes it would have been nice to finish the season in its proper manner)

So did everyone, we were 4 or 5 games away from a quadruple treble.

There's no asterisk in it. Even the most delusional hun had conceded that they were about to finish trophyless again.
