The reason young players move is because there is no meaningful youth league set up at professional level.

Maybe an under 21 league that involves different countries would be more appealing.

Fuming Celtic bosses are planning to freeze out are agent David Moss for brokering youngster Barry Hepburn’s imminent transfer to Bayern Munich, Football Insider understands.

This site reported earlier this week that the attacker, 16, has agreed in principle to swap Parkhead for the Bundesliga giants.

It is a deal set up by Moss, who did the same last summer for Liam Morrison, the young defender who blazed the trail by quitting the Celtic academy for Bayern

A Celtic source has told Football Insider that the club hierarchy are in no doubt that Moss is once again the mastermind of another rising-star departure.

Hepburn is currently on a youth registration at his boyhood club after progressing through the ranks.

Celtic had hoped to tie him to a professional contract as soon as he turned 16, which was early last month.

But plans for him to head to Germany became clear when the youngster knocked back the offer.

Moss has once again used his contacts on the Continent to broker the transfer of a Scotland youth international for whom the Hoops have high hopes can make it at first-team level.

There is a growing trend for young British talents to head overseas, with Borussia Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho the headline name.

Scotland Under-17 level cap Hepburn is also heading to Germany and will find a familiar face in Morrison, who is also represented by Moss.

Due to Fifa cross-border rules, the Hoops are only in line to receive minimal compensation from Bayern for their training and development costs.

Canny really freeze an agent out when it’s at that level.

If players are wanting to move then they’ll move. No different to us poaching players from smaller clubs.

    Attacking mid..

Aye but if he's being snakey then he should be frozen out..

Don't really see it much where you have a scout working at a club then representing player's from said club and actively trying to get them away at the first opportunity..

I can't mind exactly but he went to Norwich or Huddersfield and in sure was using a lot of our data for signing player's. Seems a fly * to be honest..

Fly * is exactly what he is.

It would be easy to have your head turned at the age tbf, and I would blame no-one for accepting the call from Saebenerstrasse, but even so it's a shame these lads aren't looking to make their names here. Bayern I can understand but Man City ffs!

Don’t see how you can freeze him out though. That would just make the situation worse with players represented by him or players who sign with him in the future.

The fact he’s getting so many moves to big clubs will have loads of youngsters wanting to be represented by him.

If a players wants to move they’ll move.

    That Sankoh looks good..

Cross border low fee and the fact Frimpong especially (Dutch teammate?) has came up and raved about it won't unnoticed down here. Obviously Eddy and Moussa have shown clear pathways in the same role..

Flicked through a couple of that Nikolic' game's and he looks a big boy and very decent. Scored 2 I think against someone like Waka on YouTube second half literally clocked it flicking through the game that was about an hour or so long. A couple of them on there and he's easy to spot as he looks a big number target man with good movement and a decent touch for his age..

    Indeed.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping tabs on highly rated Celtic midfielder Daniel Kelly, according to the Herald.

Celtic fear losing yet another of their talented teens - with Manchester United and Leicester City among those monitoring academy starlet Daniel Kelly.

The youngster, 15, has impressed a plethora of scouts from down south and further afield having starred for the Hoops' under 15s, 16s and even 18s. Kelly also showcased his talents in the Sheffield Trophy where a young Celts outfit finished runners up in the prestigious tournament to MLS side Seattle Sounders.

Herald and Times Sport now understands Celtic are desperate to keep hold of the player and have offered him terms on his first pre-professional contract, but big-hitters Manchester United have had him watched.

Kelly is a current student in the St Ninian's High School programme which has helped produce the likes of Kieran Tierney, Mikey Johnston and Anthony Ralston among others at Parkhead.

It comes a short time after Liam Morrison departed Glasgow for Bayern Munich and it is understood fellow kid Barry Hepburn will follow the 17-year-old to Germany.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on the box-to-box midfielder.

One potential positive that may come out of this virus, with greatly reduced transfer activity and squad trimming, some of our outstanding exciting young talent may see some game time.

We are relatively conservative since Lennon has come back bringing young players through, somewhat understandable, considering basically he was battling for the job last season and up until February the league was in the mix. In saying that I cant understand how 1/2 players couldn't have been given opportunity in certain home league fixtures. Lack of competitive underage football is definetely another concern. These young lads have a serious battle on their hands going to clubs like Bayern at that age . For the vast majority it will blow up in their face and they will be outta Germany in 36 months. Wishing them all the best, but they are being very badly advised. If it's good enough for the goose and all that mind, what did we sell to connell, O'Connor and afolabi to get them signed?

Aye we definitely need to try and get better competitive football going for these kid's or get them out on loan to your Queens Park's at the very earliest we can..

Hopefully we may now be forced in to blooding even more in to be first team over the next couple of years..

The pressure to win everything especially with 10iar on the horizon makes it harder to give as many chances to young players I understand that. But long term we really need to be taking advantage of the privileged we are in and give youth much more a chance.

The 1st half of the season was close, I don't blame Lennon for not going with the kids. I think he would have post split.
