Think they are calling for loans on the strength of final prize money tbh and I agree ,if this happens then they will have more time to push for void .

NEXT SEASON there had better be rules in place to ensure that every member ( that is club ) takes out insurance before they are allowed to start the season. Only 6 clubs have such insurance at the moment and if more had it then they would not be crying for money

The governance in the SPL SPFL etc is a joke. There has been plenty recent history of clubs having cash problems and that is 100% down to those running the game to let them operate this way.

No club should be given preferential treatment just because they can't manage their own finances.. Does anyone on here remember how all the clubs and officials came running to aid Celtic when our board were running the club into the ground ?

I don't think there is any chance of any football happening as soon as August with any sizable crowds (500+). From the papers it looks like UEFA might be starting to think that too and reconsidering their position.

Not sure how money for completing the season can be paid out if there is a risk that it won't finish. I'm fed up reading quotes about "awarding Usain Bolt the gold after 75meteres" and similar. If the necessary majority don't want to call the league then fair enough but I don't understand how they can be asking for "prize" money.

My feeling is that even if the SPL are taking legal advice if that is competent it will come back that they aren't allowed. At that point time will have moved on and some clubs will be closer to going under and if I am right it will be obvious that football isn't coming back for longer than the muppets have been counting on.

Sometimes you get what you wish for. * them. Wait it out.

No relegations, 2 promoted from championship, 3x14 team league. End season early with standings as is. Distribute money. That way Hearts and Patrick will agree, there’s your vote through. Scottish football needs restructuring anyways

Then at that point you might get other clubs in the premiership voting against it bcos the distribution of prize money/tv money is diluted further. I think that's been one of the stumbling blocks to a bigger league even before all this kicked off.

Surely, if they manage to find loopholes or legally allowed to by the sponsors and TV companies, then any prize money released now will have to come with the provision that leagues games will be played, or it is at the discretion for the league (or TV companies) to be able to call it when they deem fit.

Any prize money released will signal the end to a null and void completely (it's always been off the table but this will prevent it from ever being an option).

The only issue after prize money is handed out (even a bare minimum that means all clubs get last place value), is when the league is completed. Be it all 38 games or not.
And with tv companies going to insist on a full calender next season (assuming able to get up and running by August) then the current season will need to be concluded one way or the other come mid July.

Again, prize funds can only be handed out when a position has been awarded, unless we start calculating worst position possible situations (the Huns will not be getting second place money). At which point we need to get the money from Tv companies (which they need to agree to, this could even already be difficult as they may demand it's on a percentage bases considering all games aren't played at this point), and they will never then allow null and void.

This is arguably the worst case for a Hun fan and second best case for the Hun board.
They get money, but they remove the possibility of us not being awarded a title.

Aye, you can't have it both ways.

If Usain Bolt doesn't get awarded gold after 75 metres then he also isn't paid his winnings after 75 metres.

The reality is that these clubs are cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Asking for a BUSINESS LOAN when you are in trouble makes perfect sense. However the person(s) looking at handing over the cash would be correct to ask how that money will be repaid.

So,, let me get this straight.. you want the cash so your business can continue BUT you are not intending to resume that business any time soon.. oh, and you have no other income.. Hmmm i see.. so where will you get the money to repay it ? .. OH you want us to give you the money to pay it back.. just as soon as the season ends

Have you actually listened to your own statements?

It looks like the Italian and English leagues are looking to put plans in place to play behing closed doors come 6th June to enable their respective leagues to finish...

Surely we should be doing the same??? Oh, wait we cant do that cos the Huns don't want to play behind closed doors as they will get no income. Just crazy - do we want the league finished or not...

I’m willing to wager that it’s the company looking for a loan and not the club.

We should, apart from the fact the Huns ripped their pitch up already and refuse to play behind closed doors.

This should not be the concern of the spfl and the other members, we should be very much looking to get football back asap, behind closed doors if needed.
And if the Huns can't fulfil their fixtures, 0-3 defeat as standard should be awarded.

But the spfl are stupid and announced 10th June as first day of any potential training.
Which the Huns aren't taking serious with their pitch ripping up or with their training regimes to be ready for the tenth to play a game of football let alone training.

Ours is gonna be called as it stands, make no mistake about that.
Or else we will be pushing in to the next season (which if behind closed doors happens at early June shouldn't be an issue to complete by mid July and start new season August, but this is Scottish football we are talking about and we like to shoot ourselves in the face and allow the Huns to do as they please).

Its easy. Allow private streams via the clubs to season ticket holders + anyone wanting to pay to watch. Get lawells magic stream killer and everycunt would pay. Fans, money and games all in one.

    Exactly.
Come time that behind closed doors could be a possibility (other countries starting to discuss returns to work), then we can do empty stadiums with live streams with minimal Tv staffing. Even Sky and BT can still do their own live shows and the rest let ST holders have access to the streams as said.

Our issue in the UK is that lockdown has not been taken serious enough yet by those in power to shut it all down, so I'm not 100% convinced we will come out the other side of our lockdown as well as others are going to manage it (or as quick)

At this point if there is any possibility of finishing the season by playing the remaining games playing behind closed doors is the only option on the table. Even if things calm down enough over the next 6 weeks or so there is zero chance any time soon it will be safe to have big crowds attending games.
