If true could be they hoped to avoid voting Dundee Utd. to be promoted but for the thing to still go through.

If that is the case they should either be allowed to abstain or they should stop being petty and vote for it.

Not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing at this stage.

MYSTERY is surrounding the crucial SPFL vote on the immediate future of Scottish football.

Clubs were asked by league chiefs to respond by 5pm tonight on whether to give the SPFL power to end the season as it currently stands.

Both Hearts and Rangers have been vocal against the plans - and the pair are tonight saying they voted no in the ballot.

However, according to SPFL officials, only one club has rejected the proposals.

The league body tweeted their statement out at 5.44pm breaking down the details of how many clubs have voted for and against the plans.

So it is not clear whether one of the two clubs voted AFTER the information on the ballot was published.

All 42 members of the SPFL have 28 days to respond to the resolution - with just three yet to make a call.

Tynecastle supremo Ann Budge has been vocal about the resolution amid the coronavirus pandemic, insisting she will take legal action if her club are relegated without the season being played to a close

And the Light Blues have been embroiled in a war of words over the last 48-hours with league officials as they tried to put forward a counter resolution.

But this was deemed not competent by the SPFL has they knocked back their request.

This led to the Ibrox club hitting out at what they called the league's attempts to "co-erce and bully" clubs.

Rangers are 13 points behind Celtic but the proposal would see the Hoops declared nine-in-a-row champions despite the Gers mathematically being able to catch them.

As things stand, the outcome of the SPFL resolution to call league standings as they are will come down to the ONE Championship club remaining to vote.

League officials have this evening confirmed that nine teams in Scotland's second tier have voted on the plan to promote Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers and give the board the right to declare Celtic are Premiership champions if matches cannot be completed.

Of the nine, seven have voted in favour, with two voting against.

This means the final club's decision is pivotal in deciding the fate of the resolution amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The SPFL released a statement this evening which confirms that the Premiership, League 1 and 2 have all backed the move.

While all clubs were asked to give their written responses by today's 5pm deadline, by the letter of the law written resolutions such as these allow for a 28-day period and late votes remain valid.

They say the SPFL board are meeting this evening to discuss responses to the proposal.

Got to laugh at hun Rae on Clyde.

Wants the rules changed to give out prize money but doesn’t want current places to stand which is in the effing rules.

    Thick as pig *.

    Rule C38

“The club occupying position one in the league at the end of a season shall be declared the champion club of the league and shall hold the “The Scottish Professional Football Championship Trophy” until the next season’s league competition is concluded”.

This means the SPFL hold the power to call the league as it is with a clear winner, which is Celtic, and Hearts would be relegated.

Seemingly Premiership, League 1 and League 2 have passed it. Championship has 7/10 votes with 2 against and 1 which hasn’t voted.

They have 28 days to vote so could spin this out for weeks essentially depriving every other team of money they desperately need.

Premiership has the 9 votes it needs already with one still to vote so it doesn’t matter what way they go.

The problem is the Championship needs one more vote and there’s one more club to vote in that league. So that club now has the power to accept the proposal so everyone can get paid, reject it or * about for 28 days before voting.

Basically if this last championship club vote yes then the league is done and dusted.

    Tried to read Dundee’s statement.

The amount of waffle in it is embarrassing but it looks like they think they're due more money or something, presumably because they won't get playoff money or something like that?
