Just watched Jojo Rabbit for the first time. It was fantastic. Some genuinely sad and tearful moments and some laugh out loud bits. Quality 9/10

I thought it was trying to hard to be slapstick funny then it goes serious at the bombing part, it just didn’t work for me and thought Sam Rockwell who is usually brilliant was poor in it. Springtime For Hitler it certainly wasn’t.

Midsommar and Hereditary were both underwhelming, I thought. Preferred Midsommar overall but feel it's overrated. Hereditary just had a * last 20 minutes which sort of ruined it.

Watched Suspiria a few weeks ago for the first time. Thought it was okay but hasn't aged particularly well. Had a strong start and the soundtrack is immense.

1917 - Good film. Two main actors were great and the "one long take" style worked well.

Stuck on the Evil Dead remake last night. Turned it off after about 35 minutes. * awful.

My girlfriend said the same thing as you, she preferred Midsommar and I preferred Hereditary ( I would say I never liked Hereditary on first viewing).

Not many films from that era have, in horror - the special effects and sojndtrack reminded me of the old Living Dead movies.
Watched it again because I was going to watch the Suspiria remake. I hear that's meant to be good.

I thought Hereditary started off really good, but the second half was a bit of a let down, such a pity.

    Mutiny On The Bounty (1962)

8/10, Brando was class in it. Highly recommend it if you haven't seen it before. I'm not usually one for old films or 3 hour long films but this had my attention throughout. Much better than the Hollywood tripe being produced the last few years.

Intruder on Sky Cinema, Dennis Quaid playing a seemingly amiable but actually creepy * that sells his house to a young couple but continues to hang about. No bad

Watched trailer on you tube. Comments were uninspiring. Lack of originality etc. Thought it was really good myself.

    Manhunter

    9/10

Superb movie, far better than Red Dragon. Brian * as Hannibal Lector was brilliant, different from Hopkins (obviously outstanding and the best Haniibal Lector). Will Peterson and Tom Noonan are great in this. Well worth a watch, hadnt seen it in years, soundtrack is phenomenal.

    Little fact/Spoiler:

When filming, Michael Mann (director) kept Will Peterson and Tom Noonan apart during the whole movie,Will didnt know how was playing the Killer (tooth fairy).

So when Will jumps through the window at the end and into Tom Noonans arms (in slow motion) he actually * himself at his appearance and especially his height, leaving that quick reaction in the movie. Later Will stated he never had such a fright in life until that moment.
