    Here we go again
Just been placed on furlough. Been promised full wage though, so just the boredom to contend with.
Wish I hadn't watched Game of Thrones now. The last season was crap but it would still have filled a few hours

Working from home as I work in IT so a lot of clients to look after, where most of them are also working from home.

One of my collegues has been put on fulough from tomorrow for 3 weeks and he is the go to guy for info. Our directors couldn't have put a more critical member of staff on furlough.

Things will be interesting from tomorrow I think.

Still at work and can't see that changing unless it gets worse and they're instructed to close..cos ye know it's essential that Gaz from Stoke gets his Stoney jacket.

    Same.

I like routine so it takes a bit of adjusting but complaints of not being able to go to the gym after work are trivial when you see what's happening around the country.

Work have put half our staff on it but plan on rotating after 3 weeks. Not even sure this is possible but they seem to be of the opinion it is.

If they * it up it'll be them losing money anyway.

After discussions with my manager all field managers/service teams sent a letter to say 3 weeks furlough on 100% and then review .....then got another email to say all staff on furlough where to take 4 days holiday this week as Friday is a bank holiday .All office staff who are not furloughed have to take 4 days holiday before the end of the month .

so honestly dont know if i am on furlough or holiday this week ....still on 100% money

my boss theory is he does not want loads of holidays when we go back hopefully in a few weeks

I know for a fact you need to be on 3 weeks furlough for them to claim from HMRC and I dont think they can force me to take holidays but as I am on full pay I dont want to rock the boat and I am converting my loft into a room so its good having the time to do it

    interesting times indeed

    Caught between.
In short, I'm not on it, but on base pay and told not to start work till it's cleared.

Lads that are on furlough .... Are you getting 80% of your basic salary or is 80% of what you typically earn ie made up with salary, bonuses and expenses per month ?

This is part of the issue with the whole lockdown.
The government aren't actually closing and forcing these businesses down, it's just emphasised advice really. Any business it seems who can pretend to be "essential" are putting their staff at risk.
In turn folk are forced to go to a job that sells jackets and then are told not to go outside, no wonder some aren't taking it as serious as they should now.

'The employer can claim for any regular payments they are obliged to pay their employees.

    This includes;
    • wages
    • past overtime
    • fees
    • compulsory commission payments
However, discretionary bonus (including tips) and commission payments and non-cash payment should be excluded'

'Employers have the right to tell employees and workers when to take holiday.

An employer could, for example, shut for a week and tell everyone to use their holiday entitlement.

If the employer decides to do this, they must tell staff at least twice as many days before as the amount of days they need people to take.

For example, if they want to close for 5 days, they should tell everyone at least 10 days before'

You should've had 8 days notice if they intended in doing that.
