Cadete was a brilliant striker. I also remember him playing for Sporting Lisbon against us. He scored at Celtic Park against us if I remember right. That was in 92/93 I think. He also scored two for Portugal against Scotland when them humped Scotland 6-0 or something thereabouts.

The Jim Farry incident with his paperwork is stuff of legend and shows you the type of thing that actually went on to conspire against us in the 90s. And they called us paranoid!!!

He did turn into a bit of a * though. Jumped on the bandwagon with Pierre and Di Canio and demanded more money or he was gonnae refuse to play. I think the agents were to blame...but they did hire the agents. Celtic done those three a favour by signing them. Cadete went into hiding till he got his move to Celta Vigo. Then popped up again in the mid 2000s begging us to re-sign him. Swiftly got told to * off so he signed a short term deal with Partick Thistle. Good player though. Absolutely lethal at times

I was 12 when he left and I still have a bee in my bunnet that he left when he did 22 years later.

Tommy Burn's team that year was amazing to watch. Loved Cadette, wished he'd stayed longer.

A pal told me he'd signed l thought we'd signed Richard Cadette from Falkirk

One of the first of many favourites..

Sublime player. Wasn't here anywhere near long enough..

Badly treated by all accounts which happened quite a bit with our stingy dealings..

Only player I ever stuck on the back of a Celtic strip. Had 'Jorge'. He was immense but one of the 3 amigos. Gutted when he left, was a * show.

Wee Fergus saved our club, but had no clue how to manage high profile footballers..

I'd scream his name everytime I scored on the school playground. Loved him.

To be fair Cadette and Di Canio were likely unmanageable by anyone. They were a pair of bampots.

Big Pierre was definitely someone we could have kept, but in all honesty, having typed that I think Fergus did actually know how to manage high profile footballers. Sell them before they become too much trouble and unsettle the club/project.

Was at his debut. The reaction to his goal was loud as *, considering the half finished stadium.

If one good thing came from it all, is that Fergus got rid of that *, Jim Farry.

Not to mention the "offside" at their midden, and being flagged offside at Firhill in the cup, from a cutback.

Nah, Fergus was a purely business man, he's left an incredible legacy.. but he didn't really understand football people, look what happened with Wim Jansen too..

Crazy that we had a German, Dutch & Portuguese international frontline, with Di Canio from AC Milan :giggle1:

Agree on Wim 100%. Just think Cadete and Di Canio were both extreme characters who even the most football savvy person would still have struggled to deal with :39:.
