Well, given that we're all stuck in the hoose I hope it's OK to post old wildlife photies?

The Wee Black Dug in 2011 thinking that she had a chance of catching a ptarmigan on Creag Pitridh.

    Obviously she failed miserably. ;)

Cold here yesterday too. I envy you seeing Nuthatches, they are lovely birds, but unfortunately I've never seen one in the garden, and only ever seen them a couple of times out and about. Plenty of Chiffchaffs here, and on a long walk yesterday came across Yellowhammers and a Corn bunting, but no Wheatears. Pretty sure I saw a Peacock butterfly just now from the window, but by the time I got outside for a closer look it had flown over the fence! The male and female Blackcaps are around, and I'd live to get a photo of them on the feeder together, but they always visit separately, maybe they've fallen out and aren't talking to one another!

You are really lucky to get Corn Buntings which have decreased massively since the 70s. I used to get them in Cheshire back in the day. They are extinct now in many places including the whole of Wales. They are of course the biggest of our Buntings and have a cool rattling song. :50:

I am going to do some archive Wildlife reports in the coming weeks, hope I do not bore you all:56:
On this day a year ago I was based in Kingussie and me and Ruby Roo did a really big Forest Walk.
We had loads of fun despite missing out on many target species and me taking a big wrong turn despite knowing this area really well.
I got cracking views of a Red Squirrel and of 4 handsome Brambling. Because of my wrong turn I had very limited time at a Goshawk nest sight I found back in 2016.But only heard them calling.
On the way back to Kingussie I savoured great views of several dozen Pink Footed Geese And 8 close by Whooper Swan. A Sparrowhawk was also seen.
Then to my local Pub there for 6 well earned pints. I played an Aberdeen fan for a pint at darts and won:36:

Another outing tomorrow from this tour:84:

Yesterday morning, I watched a fight between A Magpie and 2 Blackbirds, male and female. Brilliant viewing. BETTER than any TV show. After a titanic struggle, the Magpie won. A few hours later though, the 2 Blackbirds were back eating my seeds.
