I actually like him and thought he would come good. Just shows u really need to hit the ground running at Celtic or you don’t stand much chance.

That's a good observation. And why I fear a little for both our January signings.

I've never seen a professional footballer for Celtic trip over the ball so much and/or * themselves and turn back as often.

I'll be very surprised if he is ever our number one LB from now.

You want to take them out, why not put them back & take Balde,Bangura & boerritger out, it looks like he did excellently now doesn’t it?
Add A dash of Izzy, Lustig, Rogic & Bitton & it looks even better.

    Griff, Ledley, julien & frimpong?

    Commons, Hatem, Matthews,Hooper???
    I’ll just leave it there
Why try to downplay our managers ability?

This. Look what the snake signed for big money. I'd say sinclair was a great signing but the next 3 years the mainstay was just ronny "the pure amazing scout" delia :fear:

Properly best punting we dont have time to fully teach a guy how to defend and on top of that how to take someone on.yid think that would be in the bag when you sign a wing back

On that list I counted 22 players that would probably have less than 20 appearances total, some having no matches and some absolute jokes signings, Rabi Ibrham and Andre Blackman two of the worst. Yes he made good money on say, Wanyama, Hooper, Virgil and Foster, but don't tell me he's a good judge of a player because there's some utter * in there. I bet anyone could pick over 40 players and get some right. The Rat also picked some utter * but he signed a hella lot less the Lenny did

Ps my gripe is about 12 million quid on 4 players that gave us nothing. Boerrigter, Pukki, Balde and Amido Balde were in terms of value and return, disgraceful signings and he scouted and signed them. Add in Freddie Lyungberg, Efrain Juraez, Miku, Laussad and Brozek his ability to pick good forwards, Hooper Griff and Stokes aside was worryingly miles off. He will be faced in the next year or so to replace Eddie and his strike rate, pardon the pun, is really poor

Lennon’s signing record has been excellent for us. Surely our best ever in that regard in the post-MON era?

Amazing that some folk give him stick for it. You can only really judge these things as a collective and overall he’s been brilliant in terms of bringing in the players we need while adhering to the clubs philosophy of developing players.

His signing record out with the big 4 Virgil, Vic, Fraser and Gary is hit and miss. Look at the list I posted and there's a hella a lot of money wasted on fees and wages on players we got nothing from. In his first window his 2nd biggest signing looks like he's finished after only 12 league matches. So tell me who scouted and okayed the signing, only to less than 4 months into the season bench him. That's my point his ability to pick the right player. He also signed Taylor at 2 million yet over 5 million quid and 6 months later Johnny Hayes, a left winger, has been his preferred option most of the time. So we are no further forward 12 months later and probably 8 million quid on money and wages worse off .Explain why that's a good start

From that list, a quick count shows me about 16 that were or are at least good for us, some were very good & others excellent.
That’s better than a 1 in 3 success rate, which is at least comparable if not better than most other managers.
ibrahim & blackman were free anyway.

as was Lustig, Mulgrew & Ledley!!!!

My last reply (Probably) because of the first line.
I assume you mean Bangura in that list, if so, why exaggerate the figure unless it‘s to strengthen your argument. It was 3+3+2.2 + 1.5 = 9.9 which is under £10 million, not 12.

Which as I’ve already pointed out is completely redundant. His signing record includes those 4.

Again, you’re looking at his signing record and trying to downplay it based on criticising individual transfer, when the reality is - every club in the world gets some right and some wrong. They always have and always will. It’s only fair to judge it as a collective.

Very few thought he could come in and repeat the transfer record of his previous time here, yet he’s managed to rebuild a severely depleted squad with relatively little outlay. Saying ‘well he hasn’t solved the left back position yet’ doesn’t change that fact.

The only really question you need to ask yourself is this:

Who’s done better under the current club signing philosophy?

You can’t just exclude those 4 to suit your argument.

Any club manager in history will have his fair share of bad signings.

Still think Lennon or whoever he employs to scout have an eye for decent players

If you take away the European Cup and all the domestic trophies, Jock Stein didn't really win all that much with us.
