Even extending the leagues to june, with bans on big gatherings ongoing and no way of knowing when the virus is going to peak, surely that'll have to mean games behind closed doors if they're going ahead anytime soon?

The virus is more advanced in those countries than it is in scotland,we do seem to be behind Europe even in this.:56:
So i would think it will be longer here in scotland before we get to a point where we can return to normal.

Nothing really new from this meeting then except Euros postponed until 2021 which we knew would happen.

Still far to early for anyone to put a timeframe on when leagues can start again etc...all guesswork at the moment I think.

So the Brilliant plan to jam games into June includes the Scotland/Euro fixture(s) - how is that supposed to possibly work when there are already probably already mid-week and weekend fixtures to attempt to complete the league & cup schedules?
Look at how many players Celtic would have to release, including our Norwegian and Israeli players as well as the Scots ....

EPL clubs meeting on Thursday to decide how to proceed ....

Looks like dragging out although uefa saying they will take the decisions if consensus not found amongst clubs and associations.

Sfa will dither around as usual.

It's nigh impossible to do but this is such a difficult situation.

If neighbouring leagues take different steps and with the UK being in a peculiar situation that we have two major leagues separated from each other in a footballing sense but the nations in most senses controlled by the same government it really makes UK football a legal nightmare to handle I would assume.

Because there is no way you can have an either or case with Liverpool and Celtic whereby one is given the title and the other isn't.

As well as the fact that if a season is scrapped entirely, how far does that scrapping go, is it to the point that no matter the league standing it's all just utterly forgotten, if so, how does that effect promotions, relegations, Premier leagues alloted European football spots?.

What if England and Scotland take wildly different actions from rest of Europe? It's a * mess.

Worst case scenario I'd say is, it ends up this season for all leagues being totally scrapped as if they didn't exist, scrap all European club comps for the "new" season, run every league again without champions, promotions, relegations actually being given from the scrapped season, they try and enforce an extra year renewal on contracts to help clubs manage their squad, which then leads to someform of player revolt with agents taking legal action to get their clients the moves they would have perhaps had lined up due to contracts coming to an end.

That's not even considering the ramifications such action clubs would take against their fa's for not getting promoted, crowned champions, sponsors not paying out the full amount and all the other extra bits clubs and their fa's get from all sorts of deals and rights.

    Uttwr shitshow this is.

A lot of people surprisingly sure in here that the situation will/won't be OK to start up again in May or June.

Given that the government just had to bring social distancing measures forward because their scientific advisors had to revise their timelines in the light of the latest data, that confidence is misplaced.

There's ao much basic stuff we still don't know about this thing. It's very much a case of wait and see regarding whether European leagues will be able to complete their fixtures in those time slots.
