The first of today’s meetings to work out the next steps for European football has concluded.

Representatives of Uefa, the European Clubs’ Association, the European Leagues and world players’ union Fifpro met by video conference, starting at 0900 GMT.

There has been no official word from the meeting but it is widely assumed a proposal to delay Euro 2020 has been made.

All 55 members of UEFA, including the Football Association, will discuss the plan, with any decision on Euro 2020 being made after that by the organisation’s executive committee.

All leagues to be concluded by end of June apparently,surely that means whether games can be played or not.A lot of teams will suffer having no prize/tv money until then.

 

UEFA cannot come before government ultimately its the government who will establish when play can resume, then domestic leagues can take decisions ie to void season etc......

UEFA had been trying to keep everyone tight-lipped over what was happening in their video conference calls today.

The final decision cannot be made until it is signed off by the executive committee.

But the Norwegian FA have ignored the edict.

It is what everyone was expecting.

Euro 2020 is to become Euro 2021.

 

trust me there will be no football played between now and june at the earliest. this is more bullshit. HH

 

So as it stands, this is what dates we are looking at for next summer's international competition:

Men's Euros: 11 June to 11 July 2021.

Women's Euros: 7 July to 1 August 2021.

Nations League - 2-6 June 2021.

Under-21 Championship: 9-26 June 2021.

World Club Cup also due to be played in June 2021.

 

Champions League final moved to June 27?


With Euro 2020 delayed by a year, it's being reported that Uefa have now pushed back the Champions League and Europa League finals by a month.

The Champions League final could be scheduled for 27 June, with the Europa League final three days earlier on 24 June.

The statement concludes with this line: "Decisions on dates for other UEFA competitions, whether club or national team for men or women, will be taken and announced in due course."

 

All domestic uefa leagues to be extended to 30/6/2020 to allow them to be complete 95% of contracts run to that date anyway those like hamilton who claim the run out the day after the old season end date will just have to offer 6 weeks extensions
