I think the opposite mate, in a few months it will be under control.. Unless the % death toll rises..

What do you believe the death % is?

It is currently 8% for cases that have had an outcome. Not 3.5% which has been widely claimed, not "less than 1%" which was claimed on sky news yesterday at Downing St. It's 8%. That is massively significant for a virus as contagious as this.

Get where your coming from here, but if it qas truly 8% then it closer to 15,000 deaths not just over 7,000.

That site says there has been 183,000 cases, for it to be 8% then close to 15,000 would have died.

Depends who you believe I guess..

It will effect people much more financially and economically than in their health.. It a cold/flu not the plague..

We'll get through it, it will get worse before it gets better and the hysteria may be justified to an extent.. But we will beat it, hopefully sooner that later.

    "Cases with an outcome" mate.

    Officially 183k have contracted.
96k are still currently infected.. so have neither recovered nor died.
    79.9k have recovered
    7.2k have died.

7.2/79.9 is an 8% mortality rate.

The sooner people get this idea that it's nothing much to worry about the better mate. I don't mean to sound condescending or insulting but your view on this virus is part of the problem.

It's is far from a cold/flu.. which have a mortality rate of MUCH less than 1%. They are also nowhere near as contagious.

At the current rate and given the UK response it is very possible that 20-40 million UK residents will get infected. At an 8% mortality rate, this could see 1.6 million to 3.2 million UK residents DIE as a result of the coronavirus.

It is HIGHLY likely to get to the stage where bodies are simply burned and a state letter issued to families to state the body has been burned and a memorial service can take place after the virus has passed.

It is my deduction from the highly likely probability that over 1 million people will die in the UK. I should have specified that, my apologies.

Best case scenario as far as burials are concerned would be immediate family only in attendance. My deduction.

I am absolutely sick of people not taking this virus absolutely seriously.

    - Sorry Marie.. thought I was in the other thread.

I just meant it's * hot there and they both have it, although Singapore has their situation much more under control than anyone in the West. You could argue that everyone and their dog has air conditioning in Singapore; but that's not the case in Indonesia.

Uefa have missed a trick here...

Id pay a quid or two to see/hear what goes on at their big meeting..

They’ve got their own tv setup as well..

We could all let out a collective ‘isolated’ cheer as Michel Platini announces that Celtic are Champions if Scotland.

Hope the UEFA meeting is to get to the bottom of how we were pumped 3-1 by Copenhagen.
