Isn't UEFA conference call on Tuesday?

I'd have thought any announcement would be after that

Prefer they wait and finish the season TBH, whenever that might be; but it definitely shouldn't be null and void. If they end it, we are champions.

    Please let it be Sevco...

That would really be the SFA and Celtic board as well... the Huns (cheating adide) just accepted the place.

Obvcourse it’s sevco. Apparently if the league is finito and positions stand as they are. Clubs will supposedly take a hit in cash.

SCOTLAND’S football clubs were last night warned they will face having to pay out tens of millions of pounds in compensation to supporters and broadcasters if they declare the 2019/20 season null and void due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The SPFL, who suspended all professional football until further notice on Friday in conjunction with the SFA, are set to make a decision on how to proceed this week after receiving guidance from UEFA.

The prospect of the governing body declaring Celtic, who are 13 points clear of Rangers with eight Ladbrokes Premiership games remaining, top flight champions and relegating Hearts, who are four points adrift at the bottom of the table, has divided opinion in the Scottish game.
However, Dr Dan Plumley, a senior lecturer in sport business at Sheffield Hallam University, believes there will be dire financial consequences for clubs if they choose to write the entire campaign off.
“I am convinced that at the minute all the clubs, all the governing bodies, everyone with a vested financial interest in this, will be trying to get this season completed either in the summer or when there is a window to do it,” he said.

“Financially, that has to be the ideal situation because effectively cancelling a full season does have repercussions.

“Fans will say: ‘We have given you money for a season that you have now declared void – we want a full refund on that because the games effectively haven’t taken place’.”
Dr Plumley continued: “There have been some rough estimates with regards to TVdeals. La Liga have come out and said if the season was to be cancelled now they would be looking at (paying back) £750 million against the broadcasting deal. The Premier League in England would be similar.

“These are just estimates because nobody knows how this is going to pan out, but we are certainly not talking small numbers.”

Imagine the scenes if the huns go bust because they're too bitter to concede the title and want it null and void :giggle1:

Exactly. This could get far worse and the only thing they will care about is telling us it doesn’t count.

Aye Timmy but they will only have to refund the cost of the final 5 home games to fans (which we know is lies) but still

    £49 x 48,000 = £2.35m
    £30 x 48,000 x 4 = £5.76m

£8.1m - “mr king or most bears will just donate it”

Whete are those figures from? If reliable then ....

    pffffffffffttttt! :57:

Huns have about 12 days to pay players for the month... whether they can surmount that will be the question... then of course there’s April.

The Berrz might not want refunds ( like Sevco would offer them) coz they’re loyal and staunch.... but players don’t half get stroppy if their 20k isn’t in the bank in timely order.

How else do you keep the Lambo’s tanks filled?

    What's this from?

If it's legit then we're laughing..

Very impressive from Hibs as well. Surprising..

Giving those 3 stands out at McDiarmid has definitely paid off for St Johnstone..

I wouldn't be surprised if the Huns and diets are in bother. Huns running at losses and the diets paying a lot of money and wages out, cost of new stand etc..

I think one of the challenges is whether this will all have passed by then. Also the big 5 leagues don’t all have their teams playing European Qualifiers in July to fit in too.

If we are to finish the league in June/July could they not split the league after 2 rounds of fixtures next year and the top 6 and bottom 6 play two rounds post split.

This doesn’t solve everything but would reduce number of games by 6 for the season 20/21. So could manage volume of games.

Would keep the 4 Sevco games for the TV deal. They could still show the same number of games just over fewer rounds of fixtures.

Means you actually play each other home and away twice for top 6 and bottom 6, which is fairer than the current arrangement which often sees us end up playing top 6 opposition away from home 3 times.

Only negative apart from fewer games, bottom 6 will moan about meaningless games if they are near the middle of the league and financial loss not playing us 3 times. However their performance on the pitch for the first half of the season will determine if they are top or bottom 6.
