It's weird, last year he had Izaguirre, Boyata/Simunovic and Toljan/Lustig as his partners in defence and he was great. This year with far better players he's regressed massively.

His position isn’t helping him but he needs to learn sharpish to stop being so rash in the tackle.

He is generally excellent at executing a slide tackle. Just doesnt know when not to do it

Ya can see that slide coming a mile off, does it far too often.

I think his issue is that he gets caught out of position too much. His positioning for me is often too far forward to where he should be, which is why he gets caught under long balls and players get the run in behind him.

i really think he needs to step it up because i think he is killing Julien in there. He also needs to stop overplaying and release the ball earlier because he has been getting caught in possession.

Thought he was OK, the fullbacks and midfield were guff.

James mcfudden was blaming him and Julien for goal, why the * would you not get caught with some daftie trying a pirouette 20 yards out, ffs.

Would rather play him at right back just now.

That big * up top for them could barely break into a jog, never mind a sprint and ajer is still diving into tackles on the half way line against him, woeful stuff.

Heart in mouth stuff when he dived into that sliding tackle in the box, although he got it right he was desperately trying to recover after a dreadful error.

Thank * for jullien, pretty much all season he's been doing the work of 2 men. He's bailed him out so many times.

If we go 4 at the back for the next wee while I'd go with jozo next to jullien tbh. Ajer needs time out to try find his form again. We've got away with it up to now (largely due to jullien) but there will come a time he'll cost us dearly.

Need to sign another CB and try him back in midfield, clearer every game that he’s not a natural defender.

More good involvements than bad last night, especially that last ditch tackle just in front of Forster. Could name 3-4 players who had a worse game than him.

Hardly glowing praise considering how bad we were in the second half.

I actually don't think there was either, in the first half when we played well he was probably our worst player with a couple of very shaky moments.

He dives in far too often .
His future lies as a sweeper perhaps , he reminds me of Effe a bit and you are always waiting for him to * up .

He was probably our best player in the second half, only topped by Jullien and on par with Forster IMO. The rest turned off. Without that trio last night's result would probably be a lot more uglier than what it was.

Not for me, jullien was miles ahead of everyone outfield and forster rescued us again with a huge penalty save.

I'd put ajer in with the other 8 as being nowhere near good enough and nearly cost us.

His positioning was terrible, and constantly diving into tackles up against a guy who couldn't even run was baffling.
