Imagine the boost the fans would get if we sign him permanently, and Eddy stays for 10 also.

Genuinely. Forster has been the difference between last season and this. Points wise.

Our defence has been ropey for a long time, but with frazer behind them, we seem to get away with it.

If we throw around any serious money in the summer he has to be our no1 priority, I know there's other positions that we might want upgrades in be he's night and day to what we've got for keepers at this level.

    That is insane record.

He's got to be be our no.1 priority signing in the summer. As pointed out, he's the difference in us not winning the League Cup Final, beating Lazio (both ties) and by extension qualification to the next round...and now he's came up with another huge moment that keeps us in the driving seat of the tie.

If those English * weren't up their own * he'd be in their squad, if not their goals. Pi kford is off form and tbh they aren't all that at the moment with gks.

He is the form English goalie. But won't get a lookin because where he plays.

If we can afford him hope that's not a major obstacle of he still has ambitions.

Surely he knows being at Southampton now is pointless. I'd imagine he will be pushing for the exit door, the question is does he come here - or has he done enough for a bigger club down south to take note?
Should a Chelsea come knocking, you couldn't fault the guy for looking in their direction. Big IF. And I base the complete fabricated suggestion of Chelsea based on only 3 things - they once chased Gordon (if he can take their interest, Forster can do more), They have benched Kepa three league games in a row now, likely Kepa will be on the move, is Forster a direct replacement in terms of what Chelsea seek? Perhaps, they could do worse and seem to be on a more humble approach than past years to recruitment. And finally, they do offer more ambition than a Southampton, in terms of being at the top end of the table, going for cups and getting a shout back at the England squad.

This is where he belongs. Remember reading some quotes when he came back and he basically said how he had some tough times in England when training with the reserves etc and he felt at home here.

Obviously it all comes down to us doing the business with Southampton but if we could get our bit done I would be shocked if he wanted to go back down the road. The grass isn’t always greener.

Winning trophies, playing in Europe and going for 10 in a row. He is loved by the fans here and won’t get anything like this in England.

Celtic keeper Fraser Forster is willing to take a drop in wages to remain in Glasgow - according to a report.

The Athletic state the 31-year-old England international could remain with the Premiership champions beyond his season-long loan from Southampton.

Forster has rediscovered his best form under Neil Lennon with his stunning Europa League displays a key part of his side's run to the last 32 of the competition.

His man of the match display in the Betfred Cup Final further enhanced his stock and he saved his fourth penalty this season to secure a 1-1 draw with Copenhagen.

Southampton are well covered between the sticks with Alex McCarthy entrenched as their No.1 and rising star Angus Gunn a more than able deputy.

A host of teams are expected to be interested in Forster this summer with two years remaining on his St Mary's contract.

Forster appears willing to give Celtic a fighting chance to secure his permanent return to Glasgow as he currently earns a reported eye-watering £70,000-a-week from the Premier League side.

Carl Anka, the Athletics' Southampton correspondent, states: “This has been bubbling away for sometime now and Ralph hasn’t given many comments outside “It’s nice he’s doing well, but I’m not focused on him.

My understanding is Forster is willing to take a pay cut to stay at Celtic, so the chances of him staying in Scotland are pretty good.”

Forster has spoken at length of his love for Celtic and he will be hoping his stirring displays north of the border have alerted England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of Euro 2020

This is a great shout actually. Would be great to see him acknowledged like that, and perhaps would help him sign...

Eddy still young enough for YPOTY??

Number one signing target in the summer.

BTSport goal show, full panel with Sutton in the middle. They discus the England number one keeper and the two being played in the 3pm games today - debating who should be number 1 - Sutton pipes in that FF is in form and should get a look, the host of the show shoots him down - Sutton asks why not, to be told that he isn't playing today. Sutton says "so what" and explains he is in form and saved a penalty on Thursday, again put down as "that was thursday".

That's the mentality FF is going to have to accept being at Celtic and shows the English media and footballing minds that they still don't have a clue outside their own league. Completely dismissing the bigger discussion of who should be number one, because of where he is playing and more specifically where he is not.

Would be absolutely delighted if he signed. Even when Copenhagen were awarded that pen midweek, I was fairly confident he would at least get a hand to it. La Gran Muralla, indeed.

Pray he does not get a call up for England, that would just alert clubs down south.

I'm genuinely not worried about HIM having his head turned. As he has had his move, got his caps and been to a major tournament etc. That's not to say he doesnt still want it again, but it's not the same as a 23 or 24 year old guy looking to make the first big step of his career.

I'm more worried about Southampton and them looking to make more money. If it came between us and a Bournemouth or a Sheffield United you know that hed pick us everytime.

Southampton are the deal breakers here. Potentially.
