Looks to be and instinctual goal scorer, if giving the service would score anywhere, for us the amount of possession we get in domestic football and chances created I have no doubt he would score a barrel load,

We have plenty of strikers and we have to draw the line somewhere . If the scouting on klimala is to be believed and respected then can we back the lad. Stock piling players and then barely give signings a chance. We play mostly with one striker and now we have edoaurd griff bayo klimala and afolabi all for that spot. If edoaurd goes in summer none of those mentioned above have shown the ability yet to adequately replace him and shankland won't change that. Hold with what we have, maybe consider an established player on loan till season end. Reassess in summer if edoaurd goes

One chance, one goal. The defender goes flying one way, the ball goes into the other corner.
    A tidy wee finish.
I think we need an extra striker just to be absolutely paranoid about injuries. Plus i see a bit of longevity in this one and think he'll be a good fit for the group.
Shanks and Griff up top i'd be happy with as a different option to Klimala and Edoaurd.

In the Summer we can get a top class striker. The best ones are already out on loan.

I’ve said for a long time that getting promoted is more valuable to us than selling one of our key players. I’m expecting him to be here until the end of the season and what happens beyond that will be dependent on what offers come in.”

I’d honestly be tempted at this point, his goal scoring is relentless.

I think if Klimala hadn’t come in we’d be looking at sticking a bid in.

I would have taken him for free at the end of last season and then loaned him out to Dundee United.

Not really, McBurnie went for 20M and I’d rather Shankland out of the 2 based on what I’ve seen.

Aye but Mcburnie was playing in England so was always going to be an inflated price

It’s about time Scottish teams started demanding more, the boy is young and scores a lot, 3M plus a 20% sell on would do them well.

Hope Dundee Utd hold out for as high a price as they can. It's way beyond time that teams in Scotland especially the likes of Hamilton, Motherwell, St Johnstone and Hibs type clubs, these teams seem to send a shedload of players down south for absolute buttons. Getting some decent moola for thier players will at least let them improve the general quality of our league.

Edit: Still don't want Shankland here but reckon he'll be a success wherever he ends up.. just don't see him doing it here for some reason.

If we sign him he won't get a run of games, if he goes elsewhere as long as he gets games he will score that's a cert hes like a Mccoist in my mind with nothing spectacular but he will bang them in.
If we don't sign him and he gets games we will not be able to afford English inflated prices for a top goalscorer.
Best we but and loan back for the remainder of this season and the whole of next with an option of taking him at any time, win win

No chance now with Griffiths getting game time.

He'll end up in the English Championship I think. Might be in the summer though as I doubt Dundee Utd will be willing to sell with a very important half season to go there. Unless they get offered something daft that they can't refuse.

QPR have just lost that Wells up front so I imagine they'll probably sign Shankland, good deal for both clubs tbf but not sure United will sell him cheap mid-season

    Especially one that's pish.

Nisbet is a better player (younger, quicker, better touch) and would cost about a quarter of what Dundee United want.
